That is simply not true. The club always knew it was there but have never bothered to utilise it. It used to be a mechanics garage accessed off Strathmore Rd. Well if they did they only just informed the existing stadium management staff. It was well known to the club when two directors bailed the club out by purchasing the same buildings on a temporary basis around 15 years ago so that wages could be paid.

Can't put roof on away end as it would block views from Centenary stand, however offered money to get rid of those crap temporary toilets and put proper toilet block in under the new screen, plus a bar for away fans there will be more seating made available for larger away followings. Most amazing thing is that the club have discovered a building behind a fence in the top right hand corner of the stadium (club been there for 22 yrs without knowing this building existed) may use it for offices, food outlet and games area for kids, but it depends on whether it is worth spending the money if we are vacating the ground. Could bring in extra revenue. Really! Honestly that has left me speechless, well nearly. Are you sure it’s not a ****-take? Blimey, you couldn’t make that up! After 22 years I wouldn’t fancy eating anything from it. Best to knock it down and put a temporary hut/ shack there......or even a tent. UTG! scraping the barrel 😂

You do realise the club tweeted this earlier and it's also on the OS but it's by invitation only? www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2019/june/fans-forum/Although not sure we need a fans forum just to tell the club that the only way to really improve the match day experience is build us a new ground. Thing is the fans have asked for it. It’s a great chance to ask questions of the club and possibly spark some change for the positive. I agree though just banging on about the stadium won’t help much, we all know it’s critical as you say Fans asked for the owners to communicate with the fan base, there's nothing to say Wael, or even Martyn Starnes, will be attending next week's meeting. The article suggests it's just a meeting regarding the match day experience nothing more.

"the owners will continue supporting the club, although they do want to see progress"
In the modern football world progress means spending a very serious amount of money at any club but even more so at a club with a clapped out stadium like ours.
The outlook appears bleak to me.

That doesn’t sound quite as strange. And if the existing stadium management didn’t know then that speaks volumes for the due diligence three years ago! UTG!

With respect to the OP.
I don't think saying we need 2 or 3 attacking players would be unreasonable guess or expectation as we have only signed defenders and clearly need some attacking players.
New stadium within 3 or 5 years you say, well hopefully there is something out in the public then before the end of the year.
Just going to try and enjoy next season, new turf that has been laid and our new widescreen TV... pessimistic Gashead here, hopeful the board will surprise me.

if you filled in the recent survey you may well receive an invitation to a fans forum in the Bristol room next Thursday at 7.00.May be worth going if you want to find out more about the club and it's intentions. You do realise the club tweeted this earlier and it's also on the OS but it's by invitation only? www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2019/june/fans-forum/Although not sure we need a fans forum just to tell the club that the only way to really improve the match day experience is build us a new ground. You moan about poor communication and you moan about attempts at better communication Make your Mind up FFS Or do you just like to moan ?

Ha ha, you actually read one of Topper’s posts in summer??? Oh wait a minute...what am I doing reading one of yours in summer?? Roll on Blackpool.
* the above is intended as light-hearted banter amongst forum playmates commenting on the general nature of the place in summertime and does not constitute attacks on posters rather than their posts....just in case anyone is affronted enough to start an extended bitter dialogue because summer isn’t the time to make flippant remarks!

No I just moan about lack of communication from the owners, it's pretty clear they don't intend turning up next week to discuss this season's pasty & pie choices, nor why your car park spot has jumped up in price this season. Even next week's meeting seems to be by invitation only, not open to all season ticket holders has was suggested they would be when we bought our s/t's.

The outlook appears bleak to me. It's fair to say that with our current surroundings, midtable L1 is our ceiling, and that's with us continuing to make a significant loss. If we tried to operate at breakeven at the Mem, we'd have no chance of competing at this level.

I would suggest none of the old guard are around to have told the new owners about said building.

Yeah it’s a good shout, you’d expect us to put shade land in by end of 2019 if this was the case. The post (if I’m reading it right) about ‘people with a vote let’s hope they vote positively’ I assume is regarding the council voting planning permission? I guess that might come first as Wael has said about the dilemma regarding do you buy the land or get the PP first? I guess/hope we will find out something soon - PP is an open source on both Bristol & South Gloucestershire and i’d expect it to be public knowledge very quickly if we submitted any sort of plans

From talks we have had with 'X' parties the ground situation is very much ongoing Keep your fingers crossed that people with votes - vote 'positively' I would hope that if things go our way, a lot of questions will be answered. Like all good things it takes time, but from all what I have seen and be told - Keep the faith. The post originator is very close to the truth. Whatever happens if positive - 3 to 5 years is realistic. Probably the nearest to the truth I have read from what I know and most mist it.

Sorry jock, you are obviously unaware of the association with 'curly fries' that I've been unfairly tainted with for many years.... Mind you, folk who could've potentially remember that are probably so old that the wouldn't remember it anyway.... Mmmm curly fries; one of the youth games we sponsored I seem to recall. Now remind me who you are again
