I didnt mind the poor starts and projects in the conference, league 2 and initial league one season. Would happily have that back if it meant watching the exiting attacking winning football we were playing then.

I get the Payne out bit BUT what if he can get his head sorted and be the player he was at Shrewsbury the season before last? I wouldn't want to be a central defender facing JCH and an in-form Payne! In his career in league football he has had ONE good season. the season before he came to us. get rid I don't think 9 league goals from open play is even that good. There were several defenders and midfielders that scored more than that in the division that season.

Personally I cant see a striker in the squad who would be justified in playing alongside JCH. Payne and Nicholls so frustrating for different reasons. Are new wingers the answer, got to be helpful hasn't it? Two full backs getting forward too. GC's results and transfer market deals have been impressive. I can't wait for the season to start TBH. Not sure wingers are the answer, how many goals did JCH score with his head ? Think I can remember him scoring a header, from a corner. Don't think he had many headed chances from open play though, as we had no wingers.
