He’s 21 and I’m not sure of his current contract situation? But he would cost a fee no matter what.

Don’t know a lot about this lad admittedly but always thought we should dip into the Irish market more often. We’ve had success doing so in the past and just look at the success Oxford have had with Gavin Whyte and Mark Sykes. Hopefully with Coughlan and Dunnes links this could happen more often.
Edit: Scales is in the Irish U21 setup apparently.

From Twitter. Another huge loss to UCD AFC. Liam Scales will leave UCD AFC to sign for Bristol Rovers. Bristol Rovers are coming to Ireland for Pre Season and will play St Mochtas Football Club this coming Wednesday! According to a Source close to the Club who confirmed this transfer! I get that they've got the date wrong by a week but does this sound plausible to anyone? Any idea if this was a tweet from a reliable source or just some guy starting a rumour?

Scales looks a good prospect. Started life as a left winger so very skilful for a centre back. Apparently very left-footed so assume would be fighting with Kilgour to take over from Craig.

Scales will be one for the future I’m assuming. Plays as a cb from what I have seen which means possibly menayese will be going back out on loan if we bring scales in ? Scales captained the UCD side in their last game which is a good sign captain and a u21 international at only 20 years of age. Reminds me of a certain someone who’s just left

Defensive midfielder. Invited to train with Man city in April this year. Defensive midfielder seems like a weird choice. Football Manager had him listed as a cb who can also play a little lb. Maybe he's a utility man who can play all 3? Apparently was a left winger, then a number 10 and then a left back. Since converting to centre half he has apparently become a very good player and has utilised his skills learnt as a winger to great effect.

Is Kilgour not right footed?? Against Plymouth he played on the right side of the 2 centre backs and I thought he mainly used his right foot. I know he scored a goal from distance with his left foot, while on loan though.

I thought Rollin was left footed?
The Twitter account looks legit has no signs of any other recent similar tweets, just sounds too exciting for a Rovers of signing!

Liam looks pretty tall anyone have any idea what his height is. If Man City have had a look at him then he could be one hell of a signing for us

They will have scouts looking around everywhere for players to add to their almost limitless amount of youth players on their books.

I am no fan of Nick Higgs. But are you seriously suggesting that we have a tight budget now due to the money wasted by the last regime... they left the building 3 1/2 years ago FFS! Budget cuts (if true) are down to Dwane Sports (mis)management. On average gates of 8,300 (ish) we should not be posting huge annual losses. Period. No ... I meant Darrel Clarke ! Gates in football rarely get anywhere near paying for a football clubs outgoings. Geoff Dunford told me Rovers needed 9,000 to break even, and that was along time ago. To make any money you need to have good cup runs, be in the top 4 of the league, and sell you best player for a few million. Other than that you lose money

Would have thought the two promotions including Wembley, players sold and increased crowds would brought in a fair few pounds to the club.

From memory it was around 8500 and was around the time Watola was here, possibly the season prior to relegation to non league.
