Today I watched this documentary and makes you think how big do you want rovers to go...so what would be your perfect status of Bristol rovers to be?
Championship mid table
Premiership
Happy with mid table league one?
Great view and puts a spin on everything

Would like Premiership for one season.........ain't gonna happen. Would like to be an established Championship side.....looks very unlikely. Would like to be a strong, established L1 side occasionally pushing for promotion....why not?!

Great view and puts a spin on everything Pretty happy with top half League One club with nicer facilities yet retains standing option. Certainly wouldn't us in a league with VAR.

I’m happy our status as it is. we can’t get the pa working let alone VAR Our match entertainment is like Phoenix nights
Don’t get me wrong i’d Love it(keegan style) if we were promoted to championship and next season promoted again and sh**ty trying to do it for years but can’t...then relegated to championship and just stay mid table but that’s just a dream
Reality is be happy with what we have but just a shame we aren’t fan based owned

Get into the Championship and stay there with a new stadium.

Hope VAR never comes in as it will be as disliked as VAT! It will become norm for the game to finish at ten past five or 10 o clock for night games. 1 referee is bad enough let alone a mini coach load. The whole entertainment will be ruined and the atmosphere will go with constantly having to wait for decisions. Much better to have somebody to blame ie the referee for poor decisions.Keep it to the Premier League and let us continue to enjoy our football. for me the rules should be left alone and the only thing for me that would improve the experience at our level League 1 is goalline technology. Football for me is far less entertaining than the 60s/70s because defenders skills have been taken away and will be even worse this season where an essential part of being a successful team will be to have a good penalty taker. The new goalkeeping rules for penalties will make saving them that much more difficult and the funiest thing will be where if they cant identify who caused foul play then the Head coach gets booked or sent off!! At least if we maintain our standard it will delay a lot of the changes that threaten the live enjoyment of our gae.

Playoffs league 1. It's where we belong, where we've always been best, and where we've had our best times.

This century not but as you say, why not. UTG!

Surely perfect for most Gasheads who've seen us play mainly in Div 1 and below would be the Championship? Although I can't see that happening in the next decade, so we'll have to make do with top 10 div 1/the hope we might one day make the play offs.

We could get promoted next season with a bit of luck and chemistry. Of course we wouldn't last long there.

Really enjoyed our year in non league, would love to play sh 1t twice a year so either we have to go up or more fun really if they came down.

My son is pals with a Cardiff fan. He wasn't at all happy about their Premiership season. Couldn't get tickets & when he did, packed ground not comfortable. I'd like Rovers to be a Premier side, but the downside might well spoil it all.

Whilst extremely unlikely under current circumstances, I’d like us to emulate Norwich...where being in the top flight is no stranger but when we’re not we are still a well financed, well run club with facilities and a footballing product that can sustain a 20k plus crowd whatever league we’re currently in.

Yes this was a good listen. But since the video was made in 2013 a lot of stuff has happened to them. They rose to tier 6, National North before getting relegated last season (?). All the lofty ideals that some of the protagonists in the video were championing have been challenged and many of the contributors to it have left the club. Within Manchester Salford have overtaken them with a completely different model of a club. Alex Ferguson has been critical of the club and the class of 92 have put all their efforts into Salford. I still admire the principles which are still being maintained, more or less, they have sponsorship but not on the shirts. Costs are kept as low as possible and they have had more success in building a new ground than we have but it’s been in the years since the new ground that the arguments have surfaced. Good luck to them. UTG!
