One of the oddest players I've ever known us to have bought. Scored a decent number the year before, came in and for the first month looked to be unplayable. Sadly after that month, he just looked like he'd never played before. Bye bye Stefan Payne, you shall not be missed. Garry Kenneth comes to mind.

He's f**ked us even after leaving, contract terminated & signs for another club on a free. Still, I'd rather him gone than have to pay his wages, I don't think anyone would have paid for him.

Bury and Bolton will both start with a 12 point deduction, and Tranmere now have Payne on their books. Just one relegation place up for grabs now. This coming season could all go a bit flat if there's nothing to play for for most clubs. Bury' s "points deduction" is yet to be confirmed.

I wish Stefan all the best it certainly didn't work out for him here but with a different club who knows. JCH wasn't an automatic starter for Coventry, but for us he gave some of the best performances in recent years by anyone wearing a Rovers shirt so things can change when you are with the right club under the right manager. I hope in the coming season Stefan doesn't score the winning goals in the games against us.

I always worry when a player leaves under a cloud, they always seem to do well against us when they come back, O’Toole comes to mind

I doubt we've paid him of much if at all.
May be nil loss of earnings, he will have by implication wanted to terminate to take the Tranmere job too

Someone’s played a blinder there, thought he would be very fortunate to get a league 2 contract anywhere after the shenanigans with us.At least we bought him off the back of a good season as top scorer at a team who very nearly made the championship.”White men can’t jump” was a good film but fecking Stefan Payne never once attempted the feat.Good riddance you total w**ker.Do feel sorry for Tranmere fans though as they have trodden a very similar path to us in recent times and are a decent club.

Bury' s "points deduction" is yet to be confirmed. If Bury's points deduction does carry through then they will have an almighty struggle to stay up, but Bolton on the other hand I can see staying up comfortably even with the points deduction. Bolton have 14 players on their books including the kids, I think it was 5 full time pros. Added to this their reputation for not paying their players and the huge debts they still have. So do you really think that they'll attract the calibre of players needed to compete in league one with a 12 point deduction?

Good points well made for sure and you'll probably be right, but I can just picture Bolton getting some sort of fresh injection of cash from a takeover. I may be wrong though.

You could build a team around Payne! Fill in the positions for the worst attitude ever first team.
1. 2. Carl Regan 3. 4. Garry Kenneth 5. 6. 7. Mark Wright 8. JJ O'Toole 9. Stefan Payne 10. 11.

some of the best transfer news this summer, I think I mentioned on my update thread that he had been told he could go the other player is Mensah, club wouldn't tell me who wanted him I expect Mellon was worried someone else would snap him up if the info got out LOL.

GC made it clear at the end of last season Payne, Bennett & Mensah could look for other clubs it's hardly a club secret, I guess Mensah has the hardest job finding another club has he's no league experience and his former club probably can't afford to contribute that much towards his wages.
