The only 6'3" striker to jump and appear to be 3'6".
Poor players I can accept, but if they don't try then I'm afraid that is unacceptable. Payne was the laziest waste of space I've seen in a Rovers shirt since I started watching in 1977. Good riddance.
But please don't lump the likes of Mickey Evans in with him. Evans tried his heart out and was a bit like Steve White in that he was one of those unlucky players who always seemed to hit the woodwork or have a shot cleared off the line. Payne isn't fit to tie Evans' boots.

When did you see him jump, then?

GC has made it clear that Mensah can go so I’m sure he will go. But I wouldn’t have thought he was on large wages and when he goes we wouldn’t be supporting his next club with wages. If it’s mutually agreed to end his contract I guess we just pay him a fee for the season on his contract. Perhaps he will stay for pre-season, show GC what he can do and stay. UTG!

I think Payne could be a quality L1/L2 player as he was at Shewsbury if he mind was right but was a poor player for us,awlful in fact, but he is a better goalscorer than TN.
To me Payne looked like he was depressed with us,and as someone that has had depression myself before I hope thats not the case for him.
Or maybe he was just trying to be gansta!

And so many people complained when DC took too long to sign the right player based on their attitudes. I’d rather have 10 Sinclairs signed a week before the season starts than one wa*ker like Payne.

Bet he took a half tidy pay off to rip up his contract.

The fact that there is an implication that Stefan Payne is a footballer here is a complete joke. He has to be one of the worst players I have ever seen in a gas shirt.
I find it unbelievable that he’s gone to another L1 club as I saw nothing in him that a conference club would want.

Bet he took a half tidy pay off to rip up his contract. Probably got a good signing on fee for them saying we thought he was worth 200k last year, one of the worst signings ever even Mickey Evans tried 😁

I always worry when a player leaves under a cloud, they always seem to do well against us when they come back, O’Toole comes to mind And for good reason, sometimes a bad spell with a club or in any employment come to that matter, can be a real kick up the backside for anyone. It ain’t just about how you get in a mess, it’s how you come back from it. Screw up at one club and that can damage your career, repeat at the next and you’ll be lucky to come back.

Some wisdom there stapleton. If SP comes back from the mess he will need to change his attitude completely, messing up and playing badly I can accept, not trying and showing no effort I can’t. UTG!

Or something like that? Once that was found out he had left us and became a fairly regular and good player for Argyle. He was also unlucky in the fact he had fairly big shoes to fill post the Cureton and Roberts season and he came as a premier league reputation player.

Good luck to him. I hope it works out well. He didn’t settle here for whatever reason but now he’s got a chance to go and try somewhere else. I don’t think he meant to fail here but sometimes that happens so best for everyone that he just moves on.

Some asthma related problem that was not diagnosed in his fateful time with us. Mind you 3 goals in 19 appearances isn't bad when you look at a certain regular starter for us who has 2 in 75. 2 in 75.

How can you say "good luck" etc to a player who seemed to put in so little effort for us and was even fined for a gesturing towards Gasheads and cost us around £200K in transfer fees alone? I'm struggling to think of a worse big money signing for Rovers.

I can't wait until we play them. Remember when Jennison Myrie-Williams was subbed off at half time after receiving 45 minutes of barracking? You ain't seen nothing yet!
