Great goodbye. Tom was a class act on and off the pitch. Glad he’s got his chance in the Championship, he deserves it after his years with us. Great memories of Tom and what he did. His goal at Grimsby in Feb ‘15 to get the points, playing at Wembley and in the match against D/R. Him, Milds, Macca, Lee B, Ollie C and Ellis who were there in the Mansfield match but stayed and helped us back deserve any success they get imo. I sometimes wondered at his passing but I never doubted his determination and his always giving 100%. I suspect he will be one of those who some never truly appreciated until he wasn’t there and then realised what we were missing. We move on and let’s hope we can unearth another gem soon. UTG!
ps. Obviously not everyone will agree! 😉

good luck to him, hope he plays a load of games. will be interested to see how much he plays. Personally, think he'll struggle to stay/get in the side. If he can improve his passing he’ll make it in the championship, if he doesn’t then expect to see him back in league 1 within a year. Good luck Tom and thanks for everything. UTG

Classy to the end.
I really hope he does well for Charlton. Good club for him to join at this stage of his career.
A quality centre half and captain.

Good Luck Tom. Still only 24, which is amazing considering how long he has been a fixture in our team. A great defender, great positional sense and strong - probably not the leader we wanted him to be, but that could come as he has probably 10 more years at whatever level he achieves. We will miss his defending I have no doubt.

You could have signed a new contract and then left!

I think the transfer/contract situation is totally fair and correct. We just signed a young player from eastleigh on an undisclosed contract, for me if that contract ends 2 years from now with the player joining aston villa on a free thats our fault not his.

Like the title of the thread says, Good luck Tom! A model professional and a great defender who we will miss greatly. Will he make it in the Championship only time will tell but a class leaving message from a class guy, all the best at Charlton.

Thank you Tom for always giving 100%. We were lucky to have you for a few years, and we knew we could rely on you as a defender who reads the game so well. A real football brain. All the very best with Charlton. I hope to see you playing in the World Cup for Wales - aim for the very top!

Farewell Tommy Locks - thank you for your hard work at the club, both on and off the pitch. A fine young man, who has a bright future ahead of him, I'm proud to have been part of his shirt sponsorship through FFSC, and will follow his career with interest.
