Never heard of him, personally.
At 32 he's only played 139 first team games, which is odd?
Mind you Bonham hadn't played much more

Permanent Goalkeepers at 6”4 and 6”7?
That will do just nicely.

www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2019/july/anssi-jaakkola-signs/The Club is delighted to announce the signing of Finnish goalkeeper, Anssi Jaakkola. The former Reading goalkeeper arrives at the Mem upon the expiry of his contract with the Championship outfit. The 32-year-old Finnish international joins ahead of the start of Rovers' pre-season fixtures and will join his new teammates for the pre-season training camp in Ireland next week. The 6 ft 4' goalkeeper began his career in his native Finland with TP-47, making his debut at 17, before joining Italian side Siena in 2006. A stint with Slavia Prague followed before a move to Scotland saw the 'keeper join Kilmarnock in 2011. It was during his time at Rugby Park that the goalkeeper made his first appearance for the Finnish national side, making his international debut against Sweden, the first of three senior caps to date. In 2013, Jaakkola made the switch to South Africa to feature for Ajax Cape Town, spending a three-year spell and tallying over 70 appearances. A move to Reading in 2016 saw the goalkeeper return to the UK – with his first appearance for Reading coming in an EFL Cup fixture against Plymouth in August 2016. Last season, Anssi featured 16 times in all competitions for the Royals, before departing the Madejski at end of the 2018/19 campaign. Speaking about the addition of the goalkeeper to his playing squad, Manager Graham Coughlan said, "Anssi is a player that comes highly recommended to us and we are excited to have him at the club. "He's been playing at a higher level and has a wealth of experience under his belt, playing in a number of different leagues and I'm sure he will be a big benefit to us. "The goalkeeping department now has a good degree of competition and it's our hope that the players will push each other to get the best out of one another. "Anssi's signing marks another milestone in our preparations for next season and I'm glad that the deal has been concluded during the early stages of pre-season."

Reading fan I was talking to seems to think he's a very good keeper. Only being let go due to the fact they want someone who's better with their feet. Was their first choice last season until he got injured. Some very promising stats I saw though: Joint most saves per game in the Championship last season: (4.1) 3rd top save % in the Championship last season (as of April 1st) highest xG shot stopping ranking (as of February 1st)

Makes sense that GC being defensively minded has shored up the back for us. Hopefully building the team from the goal forward I hope/guess! Saying that, whilst we've had bad seasons we have often been commended on our defending, and low goals against count. But, that doesn't stack up if we're not scoring. :/

This from the Reading Forum:
Re: Next Season's Squad. Jaakkola did better than any of us expected him to do. He was a cheap punt who more than paid his fee and wages during a time we needed any little break we could get. A lot of the saves he made helped us survive this season. Wish him the best.

Played a fair bit for Reading last season and is a good age for a keeper at 32 so sounds promising.
This more or less ties up the GK position, just need a few players going forward to add some creativity and we’ll be set for the season.
Welcome Anssi!
