The area that Anssi originates from in Finland - Lapland.
Hope that he can build a fortress at the Mem. Tervetuloa Anssi Very Good - I was wondering how long it would take before you showed up.

He said he never got a long enough run in the team as they couldn't really decide on the No.1. Prone to the odd mistake (who isn't?) but generally a decent keeper and a good signing for League 1.

Permanent Goalkeepers at 6”4 and 6”7? That will do just nicely. What about ability? Does that come into it at all? Never worried us in the past.....

Only played 119 games at club level. Not much for a 32 year old and most of them were during his 3 year spell at Ajax Cape Town! He's actually played at the mem against us before for Reading U23's in the Checkatrade Trophy. And he still signed after seeing that sh*thole?! Christ, already questioning his judgement!!!

Just like a 30 something goalkeeper from Finland. Welcome to the club Anssi. Looks another good signing on paper.

What is GC doing !? Signing two players (Little and Jaakkola) who have very recent Championship experience ! Can't we have some more non-league no hopers to keep the mid-summer mood down ?

A lot of Reading fans have been very complimentary about Jaakkola on Twitter since he signed - most saying he’s an excellent shot stopper & commands his area, but his distribution is a bit weak. I’ll take that trade-off any day.
Think we could have a good’un on our hands judging by their comments.

He sounds like a pretty decent signing to me, but as always I would rather watch him in a few games before a judgment is made.

Ping it out to the FB, who most of the time passes it inside to one of our CBs, who then just hoofs it up field, anyway.

I don't mind poor distribution too much, as long as it doesn't go out for a thrown in - that drives me mad

Reading fans praising his shot stopping on twitter but questioning his distribution (imo that’s nothing to worry about at this level, if he’s a bog standard/good league 1 level keeper that will do nicely).
Welcome Anssi!
Also reassuring that we again have 2 permanent senior keepers - appears to be more good business by Coughlan credit where it’s due.

On paper we had two good, permanent, senior keepers at the start of last season. Don't know anything about the two new ones so will reserve judgement until they've been seen in action.
