Fleetwood's business looks very impressive. Shrewsbury, Lincoln, Gillingham, Blackpool, Coventry, Peterborough and Portsmouth have made some good signings.
Just noticed they have signed Jordan Rossiter on a season long loan as well. Good job Barton is manager as otherwise id have tipped them for promotion!
Not knowing Fleetwood's position as a club I can't be sure, but would they manage to get these players in if Barton wasn't manager?

Exactly my point, Bury fans are raving about Rossiter. Coutts is another good signing from Sheff Utd. Andrews from Doncaster is a decent signing too.

Be absolutely hilarious if not one signing comes in this week again! In fairness to GC, it must be virtually impossible to pursuade a proven quality div 1 goal scorer to sign for BRFC, training on a western league hired pitch, with no professional on site gym facilities, playing in a 1980s ramshackled tented stadium, not a great selling point, O ye and a middle to bottom half league budget will not make the task any easier. If GC can put out a team capable of finishing mid table, for me that will be a half decent season.

This is exactly the sort of thing that DC was on about with his infrastructure comments...and that seems ages ago now. GC has to be good enough to keep us up but mid table would represent a fantastic season in my opinion. My concern though is that playing the better football we played over the first couple of years in this league is the way to achieve this. It's vital then that GC gets the right players in those forward thinking roles.

We were strong defensively last season but have lost two integral parts of that in Bonham and Lockyer. As yet, it's hard to think we will have improved on them with the recruitment, although hopefully we will have enough there. Our problems were going forward. What we did have was a striker in the form of his career so far. Hopefully, he can replicate it this season, but it's surely a big ask. We had no creativity without Lines and no changes have been made in that area. GC wanta to be more expansive, which is great, but has he recruited the players to achieve that? It is still early days and there's a month or so to recruit. So it's not all doom and gloom. But at this moment in time, what evidence is there to suggest that this season will be better than last season was? Sorry, but at the moment (accepting that signings can still be made), I'm not seeing it.

Loving the summer thanks. Somerset have a trophy and are top of the Championship. Sorry my view of the season ahead doesn't match yours. This is a forum though and I don't think I've been particularly glum in my post. Just not sure what we've done over the summer (so far) to suggest that we can improve on last season. Happy to be corrected though...it is a forum after all.

Delighted with Leahy ...Hoping for one more name this week if my sources are correct and they have been pretty good so far. Could still drag though so patience needed.
I think our defence is looking stronger now as a unit than Last season.
Sorry I don’t have the same love in for Lockyer whose distribution was woeful and at times was caught out of position over and over. Now people claim he was a rock ... Loved him as a person but as a Captain and Centre back not great.
Not convinced we will see THD back in the Quarters but I’m no Doctor.

I think Lines is overrated and became better and better the longer he wasn't playing. Much more detrimental to our creativity in midfield was Sercombe's loss of form.

Really hope we have a decent striker coming in, Evans looking unlikely though as oxford have bid for him.

Good attacking, goal scoring midfielder but never particularly creative IMO.
