Next up:
“Would you like us to sign someone who hasn’t seen the inside of a court room and has not been dogged by criminal investigations stemming from questionable off field behaviours?”

It is a tough one and maybe I am crazy and naive, but I would take him on a month to month deal with break clauses inserted into the contract. I believe he wants to turn his life around and realises there will be no more chances if he f**ks up again. I'd have him coaching in the academy and eventually out in the community to help kids avoid the mistakes he's made.

Totally agree with pp.
This isn't just somebody who made one mistake and deserves another chance.
This bloke has been charged or convicted of - street robbery, possessing a replica gun, assault, drunk and disorderly, homophobic comments, criminal damage, rape, common assault, criminal damage again, hitting a woman three times in the face, drunk in charge of a vehicle, conspiracy to defraud, and money laundering!
In addition of course, to numerous occasions of not turning up to training.
It's a bit of a no-brainer isn't it?!

Yes , all day long. Yes he has a chequered history but so do I and many others , if GC thinks he can get something out of him why not ? It’s not as if he’s going to come round any of our houses for dinner is it ?

Whilst I've just read in astonishment his criminal history, surely there must be a turning point. He's obviously good enough to keep getting signed despite the off field antics, and if we could be the club for him to turn it around, and bags us goals whilst doing it, I think everybody would be satisfied!

20 goals from 54 starts at this level. 24 goals in 10 years. Say no more. He does have good ability and attributes though. 6ft 2in, pacey, very powerful and can finish. Shearer rated him highly at Newcastle and gave him a 3½-year deal after he scored 22 goals in one season for the academy and reserve teams.

His rap sheet since (as seen above) doesn’t make such good reading. His last couple of Mem appearances against us have been dire to say the least, I’d be disgusted if we wasted any money on this blokes wages.
