Ah, but think of all the ITK-ness you'll miss out on. No-one of any importance bothered to turn up at the Cribbs Development game. I am having to be more selective on games I attend as my mobility is getting worse and unless the facilities at a ground are "disabled friendly" I am finding it more difficult to attend. Sorry to hear that - it's a bugger when our health issues prevent us from doing things we enjoy.

I have been pushing the club to improve facilities for away fans, to encourage this I have offered the club money, there should be ontop of the food kiosk a bar and new toilets in the area below the new screen hopefully takings from the food and drink will bring in a bit more income for the club. There will be more seating provided for away support where there is a larger away following. The club do appreciate that there are season ticket holders in the south stand these fans have to be taken into consideration so the whole of the south cannot be given over to away supporters.

Thanks for your update on away fans experience. I know the club increased seating at the MEM by building additional stands . However: this meant the away allocation have dropped from around 2000 to 1400 to 1100. Another issue to consider is home attendance have dropped 1000 and we often have around 500 empty seats per game. It's a shame when we stop 500---800 away fans and you look around and see 200 empty in south stand 200 empty in family stand 200 empty in South/west. And yes I go to the 'big games'. Last season we had 7 away games 'sold out' at the MEM and our football club could of made money by increasing away allocation. I am not knocking the club only identifying how we could made revenue. So why not ? Allow up to 500-700 away in South stand and push the 200 S.T holders to the west end and fill up the remaining seating in family / South West. I mean the ground can hold 1200 plus and we average just over 8000. We are being asked to come up with positive suggestions. If this can't be done. Then I only ask : Why was the away allocation always 2000 until recently ??

The away capacity used to be 2000 because the south stand used to extend the full length of the pitch, away fans were allowed in the terracing sections directly neighbouring the home section of the east terrace and laxer health and safety standards meant you could fit more people onto the existing terrace. It would be very tricky to fit 2000 away supporters in that small section of the ground nowadays.

It would be very tricky to fit 2000 away supporters in that small section of the ground nowadays. That section only added 150 extra seats in the south stand ( full length ) . So the revised away allocation for terrace / South stand could be around 1900. The reason being Sunderland brought 1,883 in the semi finals and they were housed only in away terrace and South stand. It may not be 2000 but def 1800 plus if they wanted.
