Is it worth closing this thread if we are saying the board don't need to tell us anything?
Literally nothing to talk about re a stadium.
I am happy to wait for Mr Ambiguous next update in August 2020 about how the can't disclose why the Fruit Market never happened due to confidentiality.

Heres the summary.
Owners have no money, want to sell but dont have a hope of finding a buyer unless they have some semblance of future improvement/investment.
So they try and get the club back to the state that they bought it in - losing money but with stadium plans.
Some people start looking at it going ok if that is the situation we may be interested.
Owners dont have the money to buy a site so price of sale goes up to cover it.
Investors/potential owners priced out.
Henbury gas posts £58m on gaschat.
Owners try again and so it goes and so it goes.
Steve Hamer turns up on gaschat with yet another username and says some sh**.
Nothing happens.

Incidentally the finest sausage roll money can buy can be found at the M5 Gloucester services.

Don’t judge everyone by your own morals. So if your boss comes up to you one day and said here is a £10k pay rise, but don't tell your mate next to you who is doing the same job, you would turn it down because its morally wrong ? if you do than well done , because most people would accept it That’s a completely different scenario to what we were talking about. If I was a billionaire I wouldn’t mind paying a few extra millions pounds in tax in my own country. You know why ? Because I’d still have millions & millions left . If you’re that bloody greedy that even though you have multi millions you still want more then you’re just a greedy selfish tosser in my book.

The thread is about Fruit Market and a Consortium, I see no progress at all on Waels uttering start of the season and have a missed a Consortium riding in to save us. This thread is flogging a dead horse. We are so far up sh** creek without a paddle, the paddle is long lost.

And in the same position you would do exactly the same No I would not . I bet you are that bloke who runs through duty free at the airport screaming "Don't buy here, buy outside and pay the VAT."

This thread is flogging a dead horse. We are so far up sh** creek without a paddle, the paddle is long lost. It’s all about perspective, you can take hearing nothing as a bad thing and that plans have either collapsed or never got going in the first place. Alternatively you can see it as a good thing that things are progressing slowly behind the scenes and that they don’t won’t to give updates until it becomes more concrete so as not to get the supporters hopes up. This is pure guesswork on my part but if plans for the fruit market were in their infancy in August then I’m not surprised we haven’t heard anything since, these things take months to get the ball rolling and even then there is no guarantee they will materialise. If nothing hasn’t happened RE the fruit market by next summer then I’ll be worried but I’m not going to fret over it after just a few months. I won’t lie I’m not all that optimistic in the Al Qadi’s ability to get things done but if external parties are involved and serious about seeing this through then who knows.

There are plenty of millionaires who live in the UK and pay their tax, which they can easily afford to do.
Then there are the greedy b@stards who don't.

I wouldn’t be willing to pay more if I was a billionaire - politicians and civil servants would just waste it. Better to use it to fund your own choice of deserving causes.

Lack of morals and greed? Seems paying Tax is just for us peasants What about self employed? I doubt any pay the same amount as employees like me through PAYE.

In some lines of work (“professional services”) they get a really hard time of it from what I’ve heard from some people who work as contractors.

The issue isn't really about Brit billionnaires living in tax havens to avoid paying tax to the HMRC --- although in my mind such action is morally reprehensible.
The real concern is our lack of tax revenue from a host of multi national companies (eg Starbucks, Amazon,Apple, Facebook) who accrue vast amounts of money from the UK consumer but pay a relative pittance in tax to the HMRC.

Not to forget that none of the employment benefits either, including pension...
