GGMI Brainwashed by Walsall supporters. No evidence whatsoever from the two performances that he is mentally weak- wnatever that might be or a poor defender.Ok he switched off for the second goal but would he really have won that great ball anyway? I have seen Lockyer, Lee B rown and many others switch off in a similar way. Give the bloke a chance - you have written him off on the basis of being mentally weak yourself and just taking the opinion of a football clubs fans who are hardly going to be full of praise for somebody who walked out on them after relegation. It is n ot possible to judge a player based on two games, you my friend no doubt wrote off b oth Lambert and Jason Roberts!! Brainwashed by Walsall supporters eh? Well even if I was they were bloody right!

Fair comment, but I stand by my statement. We have the potential to be a Championship club but I've no doubt if we ever get there, new stadium or not, we'd be among the favourites to go down. Even if it was expected I'd bet my bottom dollar that a lot of fans would be moaning that we're struggling in the Championship. It's the inevitable course a minority of every fanbase takes once their club stalls because people are too short sighted to realise that their club can't keep winning and improving all the time year or year, it's impossible. One day Man City and/or Liverpool will go through a bad spell and I bet there will be some advocating the removal of their manager when that happens. Nevertheless I agree with you that we are not fulfilling our potential as a club but at the same token I would say we ARE pretty much at our limit with the facilities we currently have, which in this day and age are not fit for purpose as they generate no additional revenue outside match days. It’s a moot point at the moment, we’ll never be in the championship under GC as long as I’ve got a hole in my arse. I’m not even sure anyone can argue we *should* be in the championship. I can fairly confidently say we shouldn’t have such a motley crew of players though. We should be better than starting each season staring a relegation scrap in the face but unfortunately that has been driven by off field matters. The money the owners have put in since promotion has been badly mis-spent and we are still paying the price. Poor leadership from the top of the club too. We are badly run off the pitch and badly run on it. Things should be better than that. Average for me, even with our current facilities would be mid-table in league one and we are some way off that both off the pitch and on it, imo of course. "With our current facilities we should be mid table Div 1 side" are you living in a dream world? We've a ground which is one of the worse in the league and a training ground we're about to be evicted from.

You are selective quoting me there, I said “EVEN with...” ie I accept it’s a hinderance but even so at one point last season we were in the top 6 for average home attendances. Regardless of the quality of that stadium if you put out decent football the fans will turn up. On that basis we should not so readily accept battling relegation. Mind you after what happened with DC I am starting to change my opinion on the “avoid relegation at all costs” philosophy that some fans cling to in order to build some forward momentum. Increasingly we see clubs that are promoted outperform clubs that have had a consistent run at league one level

Well there are a number of variables at play there in signing players and I don’t claim that it is easy. However I do wonder how much GC has tried to address that area. We seem to have got in two reserve strikers from higher up. Is there some reason we can’t at least sign one youth/reserve CAM from a team higher up the pyramid? Or have a decent scouting system to identify one from conference level that we could take a punt on? Are players of that type harder to come by? (Genuine question, not rhetorical)

Very intrigued to read your match report tomorrow Steve. Me thinks you might be eating some humble pie whilst writing it.
