I believe Oxford made some good signings this summer & are expecting to really push into the play offs.
No doubt we'll get hammered & Taylor will definitely score.

Sorry but he was a willing party in a underhand deal which humiliated the club and fans who made him, he was nothing prior till joining us and has been nothing since leaving, certainly would not want him back and would not be surprised to see him fall back down the football pyramid to obscurity. This. The only thing I wish for him is to have to make a return visit to the Mem so that he gets exactly what he deserves. Should be a great occasion, hopefully will kick start our season.

61 goals in 118 apearances. A pretty major part in TWO promotions. How we would love to have someone with half as good a record as that now.
Yeah, I'm going to respect the part he played in some of the most enjoyable years I've had watching my team.
I'll clap him.

As city played at St. Andrewโs yesterday and we are there to play Coventry next week, will the away seats have been disinfected by then?

Surely he would have done a job for another lower end championship club.

Anyone who wouldnโt have him back deserves another season of Tom Nichols and relegation that would come with it. Taylor would be head and shoulders above every player in our squad JCH aside. I'd rather be relegated than watch that put the quarters on again. sad

Probably because Lyle Taylor was going to go to Brentford to replace Maupay but it all collapsed at the last moment so Charltons plan to replace him with Matt Taylor couldnโt be completed. UTG!

I think youโll be correct but that doesnโt stop gas1970 from being right to clap him. I was as frustrated as the next gashead that what happened happened especially as at that time we had a good chance of making a go at the playoffs. Weโd had a good January and were playing well and were looking good. All parts of our team were playing well and his leaving messed it up. But he played his part in the best football this century. When he joined we were staring at oblivion and he with DC and all the other players played a part in getting us back to our historical place in League 1. Without his goals and overall play we may have still been in non league so yes I can understand the whole frustration thing and esp since he joined the s*** but I look at the bigger picture and just think, thank everyone that we are back where we belong. Iโd cheer Ellis, Lee B, CL, Rory, all the Walsall contingent and will probably just keep quiet over MT. Best not to wind him up, although that may be too late, we all know what will happen. At least we got ยฃ300k for him. I suspect weโd all clap Tom L if he returns yet we got sod all for him and he deliberately ran down his contract knowing weโd get nothing! Iโd clap him for his part in our success. And in the end itโs not the players fault if we donโt act early enough to secure our best players and avoid similar situations. UTG!

I'd rather be relegated than watch that put the quarters on again. sad What is really sad is people on here embarrassing themselves dreaming that he would ever consider coming back even if we would have him, while that other lot down the road are watering themselves at how pathetic some on here have become.

At the end of the day he had no loyalty to the gas Lansdown told Lickle Lee to get him off of us to stop our progress and divert the attention away LJ, Matty left for the money apparently 3 x more than he was on with us and didnโt really earn it as he was never a regular in the starting 11 and never really bettered himself as a player!, so hands up if someone approached you and offered to treble your wages and you really wouldnโt have to do much more to get it would say no thanks!!? Itโs a shame Matty didnโt go to any other club in the championship as he would have been a GAS legend and welcomed with open arms
