Someone told me there was a Development game at the Mem on Thursday afternoon. Is this true?
If it is quid a kid would be great for people to take their kids/grandkids during the school hold.
I have not yet seen Tomlinson or Moore play and have only seen Russe play the odd few minutes as a sub and if it is a knock out cup game we might as well just go for it.
Hopefully GC is there to watch and gets to see some quality balls in from Kelly. In THD's absence he would definitely be my choice at left back. (The bloke behind me has a new nickname for Leahy -"hospital ball")
I bet it is a lot more entertaining than Saturday.
Yet again absolutely no mention of the game from the club? No posters, no tannoy announcement, no programme article etc. No doubt it will get mentioned Thursday morning on the website, but what good is that to any grandparents with no internet access?

That represents a change of policy. Crazy really, hardly anyone goes to these games as it was when it was free.

Struggling to keep up with the raise in tempo after their scrappy goal too. Cambridge looked nervous early on and I would have liked to see us capitalise on that.

2 nil defeat hard on Rovers, Far better in almost all aspects of the game, except scoring. Very good game, all players generally good on the ball. Stand outs Widdrington, Hargreaves & Mehew were good and created chances galore. Tomlinson was inventive and unlucky not to score. Van Stappershof in goal had little to do. A real smash & grab win for Cambridge

Very disappointing - typical Rovers. Neat and tidy in MF, but sloppy defending gave them goals. Fair few chances, but none put away; though their 'keeper made some good saves. I'm told Cambridge don't have a DS, so this was a defeat against the U18s of team 18th in L2. First goal ball bobbing around in 6yd box, failed to clear. Second, Menayese sent poor ball to LB. Ball intercepted and goal followed. Plus points: Tomlinson, playing advanced MF, worked tirelessly and looked our most attcking dangerous player. Some silly petty tackles though would have got him booked in another match. Hodges played first half CB, then in second half swapped with Hoole to go RB. Looked very comfortable there. Could be good cover and certainly a match day squad player. Mehew and Hargreaves worked hard with little success. Moore didn't have much luck but looks threatening whenever he has the ball Not so good: Kelly had torrid first half; making wrong choices and hitting misplaced passes. Was subbed first. Widdrington. Wants to be noticed (socks around ankles), but too many wasted free kicks and shots from distance. Van Stappershoef. Not much to do but many of his place kicks went straight out.

I thought it was a poor game,Cambridge bigger and stronger. 1st half Rovers were poor, giving the ball away. Improved in 2nd half and gave the Cambridge goalie plenty of work to do,with a couple of good saves, but we were wasteful. Disappointed in Moore, thought Hargreaves and Widdington looked best of the bunch. Not sure if there is anyone ready to step up yet from here.
