Anyone playing the beta version of FM15 yet?
My first press conference as Rovers boss I'm asked if I can put an end to the years of decline at the club. Challenge excepted. Late nights ahead.

Yes! I've just finished my first season as Gateshead manager (I never play as Rovers, it's like a taboo). Much better than previous versions.

I agree with Rovers being taboo, I end up basing my opinions too much on real life. If someone plays badly on Saturday then they'll end up being dropped on the game

The moment I started a game as Rovers I instantly ship out any players I don't like/rate - even if they're valued highly or rated highly on FM. Is it worth getting do you think? What's changed since FM14? (I know about the Movember idea which is cool)

I used to love football manager games, but.... how can it be possible to get anywhere whilst in full-time employment?

I feel sorry for players just leaving them out!

Did you know subbuteo was invented by a Brit called Peter Adolph and was named after his love of falconry? (subbuteo being a Latin name for a type of bird). Interestingly, the creator had no fingers after losing them from septicaemia secondary to serious burns sustained a terrible baking accident.
Several years later whilst at home alone preparing for a subbuteo semi final, Adolph went in to a challenge full throttle without considering the consequences. His fist hit a candle which was posing as a floodlight and it fell to the floor igniting the shed his wife had insisted he use for his miniature endeavors. Unfortunately whilst trying to dial 999 he accidentally smashed the number 118118 with his clumsy fist and eventually succumbed to the terminal tedium that directory enquiries call handlers put you through and was bored quite literally to death.
None of that is probably true.

My girlfriend said we needed to "talk" about the amount of time I spent on football manager and the affect is was having on my actual employment. I was so angry with her, I stormed off to the garden and sat in my dugout for the rest of the evening.

I had a mate who's missus came home from work once, found him on it and grabbed the laptop and threw it in the dock then and there. He dived in after it and I assume he found it because he was never seen again.

(subbuteo being a Latin name for a type of bird) The Hobby. that is correct. I believe he tried to call it the hobby but was denied trademark rights for it so called it subbuteo after falco subbuteo or the Hobby.

Went on a 16 game winning run then couldn't buy a win for 10 games and dropped from 1st to 5th! Yet to play the play offs yet. Jamie White scored 32 goals and Taylor has about 25 - I hope you're reading Darrell!

My Mrs just told me I'm spending too much time on this game.
I sent my Assistant Manager to tell her it's over...

I think you will find a certain bird loving Gaschat member posted this very fact in the Quite Interesting thread on this very forum a few weeks ago...... Hoot.
