Reliably informed by a Brighton supporting contact of mine, they will 100% go with a reserve squad and easily sell out their allocation. Which surprises me. The West stand making way for the East, must mean the club have wind of a potential appearance live on Sky. Not sure about that - thought the game(s) had already been selected (Newport?). In that case, no real reason to make the switch. I can see why people will be annoyed at this decision.

If demand for tickets are high, the club will open those parts of the ground. If not, they will remain shut to save on stewarding costs. Quite straight forward really.

That's a very passive way to the game, if they come we will open it..... How about let's promote the death out of this game and fill the place ? Very poor management in my view, must be the new stadium manager being conservative

I’ve heard that the reason the West Stand is shut is because we’re giving it all to Brighton 👀

Not expecting much of a crowd by the looks of it 'The East Stand, East Stand Terrace, Thatchers Terrace and Family Stand will be open for the fixture'. Not even opening the West Stand, South West Stand, West Terrace, Family Terrace or South Stand. Perhaps some more of the south stand has been allocated to Brighton? Pretty clear on BHA website "We have received an allocation of 900 seats in the South Stand, and depending on demand, the club will open up a visitors’ terrace, which holds up to 850 fans." The only strange thing is the terrace wording. They are selling tkts from Monday so surely they either sell a terrace tkt or they don't? 'Demand' would surely be if even 1 fan wanted to go on a terrace - I imagine loads would want to as chances for their supporters will be rate these days. Surely they aren't honestly saying they will have to sell out the seats before they open the terrace?? Same prices as us, which is fair.

That's how I see it, they'll only open up the terracing after all the South stand tickets have been sold. I suspect they don't want to open it up, get all the stewards and food people there and only a few turn up, I think this is the best way, also its more expensive sitting than standing.....

That is correct but there are fans like me who use the west stand and won't bother going if the stand isn't open, so the club will lose revenue. I will have to wait and see if the stand opens before getting a ticket.

Suffer from bad back so not easy to stand for a whole match, I could get a seat in the centenary stand but don't particularly like sitting up in that stand, so probably not bother .

What's wrong with South stand? He hasn't said there is anything wrong with the south stand. Probably because it's not open for home supporters for this game.

There’s a lot of people who probably will do the same. West Stand is much more accessible for people with mobility problems whilst the West Terrace offers much better protection from the rain than the East Terrace for those people who want to watch from the side rather than behind the goal. Too late now but if they are so worried about stewarding costs etc then £15 tickets for the terraces and £20 for the seats would have been better and to open the whole ground. As things stand if I can’t go in West Terrace I will now make a decision when I have an idea about the weather forecast. This is a totally unnecessary decision by the club and one that’s sure to water people off.

I didn't say he did! Maybe should put it in simpler terms, what's wrong with "sitting" in the South stand? I give up! As pointed out the south stand is for Brighton fans only. If I managed to get a seat in the centenary stand and they then the club decide to open the west stand, I wouldn't be able to sit in it because I have a ticket for elsewhere. So the whole idea is stupid, TG told me it was to save money and there would be more atmosphere if everyone is crammed into one part of the ground. I disagree and and think it would be better to have supporters around most of the ground rather than having noise from one half of it.

The MEM can hold roughly 12000. If you take away the West side ( stands / terracing ) you could deduct around 3000 . I think a lot will depend how many Brighton sells in order of S.T holders : Members and general sale. Let's say Brighton sell out nearly 2000. It will leave only 7000 tickets for home fans if west side is closed. Will that be enough for us ? Will the club opt to make the game all ticket in order to keep shut the west side ? How many home fans will buy tickets in advance ?. A lot will depend on ticket sales. Surely if sells are going well then the west side needs opening up and we encourage as many to turn up on the night as possible. Alternatively : TG could decide it's more cost effective to make it 'all ticket' and cram in 8000 plus . Who knows ??

Given our league attendance is around 7,000 including season tickets I guess we'll struggle to sell a similar number to see Brighton reserves? Although I'd have thought we could sell out the Grandstand and West Stand seats?
