No problem with any constructive criticism of the club, its performances or its strategy financially but referring to your own club as a turd strikes me as a dark side thing to do. Having supported the club tbrough far worse times than this I suppose I dont see calling the club a turd the way to go. but why should fans have to put up with it all the time, smaller clubs attract better players and we can’t improve our team when we have had since end of last season to improve Hopefully the new owners rumour is true cause the lot we got now will not improve us at all Because the last manager signed players like Mensah (£1750 a week, which Maidenhead are not contributing to btw) Bennett (£4K a week) Craig (£3k a week) put duffers like Nichols and Sercs on 3 year contracts, Craig on 2 1/2 year contracts. GC is hamstrung to a degree because he has contracted players he probably doesn’t want but no one else does either because they are on good money here. One football club chairman told me once that at L1 level you want all of your squad on flat money of around £2k per week with 2 year deals except your strikers as they get you goals. You should pay between £3 and £5k per week for them. The contracts for extension or break should always be in the clubs favour too. We seem to get to league one on a similar footing, good squad on sensible money and contracts and then start handing out stupid deals which never works for us. Trouble is that there is lots of agents now doing the negotiating so the power has shifted.

Time to lock this thread me thinks. Why? It's not Rovers related as we all know Hani rarely attends games, similar to the President of Man C. This can just be merged with the takeover/FM threads as it's all past of the same nonsense.

We are a small club, that for 40-50 years have had to do things a certain way. In a two ticket postcode lottery the dark side won and theres nothing we can do about that now. However that lottery result has impacted on our expectations I dont dispute the frustration of being a gashead. I've stood in away ends all over the pkace clapping the side off after another defeat. It does get you down and I have admit the novelty is wearing off after 45 years. I would though always support the club and take offence at the club being called a turd

Hi Steve.
Could you do me a favour, when you send off the next lot of emails to Hani containing all the naughty things Gashead1981 says about you, please could you tell him Hugo wants to know how many games hes been to.
Asking for a friend.
Much love,
H.

What a charming way to refer to our club. Hopefully you're amoung the 2k not charming in anyway at all, what would you call the last 3 games entertaining? Serve up sh**e and nobody will return As a paying fan I can say what I see in front of me,if your one of the deluded ones that claps at the end after performances that they get PAID for then well done you 👍 With customers like you, who needs supporters.
I was verbally abused and manhandled by someone expressing exactly the same opinion in the Thatcher's last season as I was clapping the players off. We'd lost, but plenty of the players had put in the effort. I'll always clap the team off, whatever the result. That's my version of support, but obviously not yours.

If something was costing my family in excess of 3 million a year I would certainly be more interested in it than Hani appears to be...

Just give it a few more games before condemning this team. We got rid of the only guy who demonstrably was not putting in the effort last season, and improved as a result.

If we're still paying Mensah his wages, he might aswell still be here as it's not freeing up any space in the budget.
All i care about who turns up on a matchday are the players and fans. The big wigs can do their stuff the rest of the week.

Trouble is that there is lots of agents now doing the negotiating so the power has shifted. For someone of your age, who is a 'business owner', I suggest the information you have imparted in this post is completely out of order. If the figures are true, then I am surprised that you obtained them, as it could only have come from someone at management level within the Football Club. In itself, that may not be a problem, but to put that information on a public forum which can (and is) regularly read by competitors, supporters, colleagues and agents is totally wrong. Employees contracts are private, and as a business owner I imagine you know that?, between the business owners and the employee. If the figures are an estimate then I do believe you should state that. If the figures are accurate, then whoever gave you the information should be ashamed of his/herself for allowing the information to become public knowledge, but not only that perhaps we should be informed on this forum who and what their terms of contract are? I am sure there are people who are happy for others to know what a wonderful salary they receive, but there are those who may not. On another matter, you seem to take delight in having a pop at me, and suggest that I am somehow in regular contact with Steve Hamer, well just to put the record straight, I have not spoken to SH this season, and the only word he has spoken to me was " Hi" as we passed in the corridor during the Wycombe match. Finally, the information I hold on what is going on behind the scenes affecting BRFC comes from outside the Football Club and unlike some (if the cap fits) I do not discuss details on public forums.

If you're trying to make a point, just say it. If you're not trying to make a point, why post? 'Just asking' is plainly two-faced, mealy-mouthed, half-arsed, plausibly-deniable, rhetorical bullshit. Just saying. Whatever happened to attack the Post not the poster?
