Payne deserves to be booed. He didn't want to be here, didn't try when he was here, abuser fans, went AWOL the night before a game, played a big part in getting one of our best ever managers the sack and generally disrespected us, the people who paid his wages. Taylor doesn't deserve the abuse because he was an integral part of our rise from non league. If it wasn't for his efforts, we might still be complaining about our performances against Barrow...or worse. As it is, we're complaining about being poor against Coventry. I know what I prefer. Taylor will undoubtedly get abused horribly if he is there on Saturday. I hope he isn't and that we can just move on from this nonsense. Very similar to my own view, Payne underperformed, threw his toys out the pram when dropped and dissed both the club and its fans when making a sideways career move. If he gets on the pitch and is barracked I have no problems joining in. Difficult for the partisan fan to disregard the fact that MT moved across the city and the sordid nature of how the release clause happened to become known by our neighbours but...apart from the fact he gave 100% in a Rovers shirt and played a part in two promotions he also did not walk away for nothing in the summer and ensured we got half a season out of him and a transfer fee as well. When he left he went to a club that has invested in developing a premiership ready stadium, not just talked about it, he joined a club that was able to spend big on transfer fees and turn some players (Kodja, Reid, Kelly, Flint and Webster) into talented assets generating major transfer receipts. All of this is attractive to a player in his mid twenties getting one shot at rising above L1 and significantly bettering his wages at the same time. It was a gamble he couldn’t turn down. Who would not want a shot at the big prize whoever was offering it? After all he never was a Rovers fan! It it may be that ultimately L1 is his ceiling and that gamble failed for him as he has had to look elsewhere for regular football but for me that is “punishment” enough for him. I’m certain he’ll get a hot reception but I for one will not take part in it. Agree with this. It hurt all of us when he moved across the city but I've no doubt at all we'd still be in the Conference if we hadn't signed Taylor. 67 goals in 132 appearance is a phenomenal record and he contributed so much more than just goals. He gave his all when he pulled on the B&W quarters and was the biggest factor in both our promotions. He could easily have walked away for free but unlike some others he signed a new contract - albeit with a release clause - and fired in 19 goals to help us establish ourselves in L1. By signing that new contract he also ensured we got a fee. He's better than any striker we've got now - JCH included - and I've little doubt he'll help Oxford to at least a top 6 finish this season. I'm not saying he deserves a heroes welcome but I personally won't be booing somebody who did so much for our club.

I think the abuse Matty might receive will be unparalleled in my lifetime.
It should ruin his day and performance.
So he's bound to score then.

In answer to the OP, Taylor will get more abuse as Payne will hardly touch the ball if he plays anything like he did for us.

Alfie Kilgour to cut the snakey one in half, first minute, first tackle to set the tone for MT’s Saturday afternoon. Ollie Clarke and Tony Craig also making their presence felt, would be most welcome.

Can only speak for myself, but it is not even close for me... I will boo Payne and generally don't like the bloke, but I absolutely despise the snake and cannot wait to hurl venom at him for 90 mins on Saturday! Genuinely looking forward to that alone.

Payne is a sh*t waste of space and will hopefully prove that again tonight.
Unfortunately Taylor is a top striker and will almost certainly get the last laugh by scoring on Saturday. I just hope our fans don't do anything stupid that could get us docked points or fined because if they do they're the ones that derserve the abuse. I have no issue with fans booing from the terraces if that's what they want to do but if Taylor smashes in a 90th minute winner at the Thatchers end and gives the 'Shhhh' to our fans I'm concerned that some idiot might take it too far.

I'm not very good with odds and betting, but whats the best price you can get for Taylor scoring at any point? You just know its gunna happen, might as well try and make a few quid out if it.
If any one could post a link to said odds it would be much appreciated.

Wonder how many people lose their money every week on them poor odds. 19/5 for Payne to score. 27/10 for JCH

OK cheers. What does 19/5 mean? Is it if I put £19 on I get £5 back?

The other way around, put £5 on get £19 + stake. So a £5 bet would return £24.

Thanks Marshy!! As you can probably tell, I'm not a betting man, but I'm going to make an exception for Saturday!

In simple terms, the odds on the right hand side are what you put on, and the odds on the left hand side are your profit if the bet wins. So if you put on £5, you will make £19 profit. So £24 back in total. Personally I'd save my money on Payne, especially as I doubt he will start. Taylor will be a lot shorter on Saturday. He will probably be about 4 or 5/1 just to score the first goal. You can put on as much or as little as you like though.

I use decimal which is easier for me to understand lmao. Payne is actually 14/5, so 5 on gets you 19 back. Nichols is 5/2, so 2 on gets you 5 back JCH is 17/10, so 10 on gets you 17 back. These are to score anytime. I'll probably go for Matty to score last next weekend which is inevitable as he hands Oxford the victory deep into stoppage time.

MT will be scared and SP will be enthused by it! Be quiet tonight until we are winning by 2! So basically be quiet! Lol!

Ive put the true Nichols odds above, but I still think those odds are still a bit short.
