Best striker last season, shame we couldn't keep him but wages prevented that I believe.

Shame we didn't play him in the striker role last year.
However, we could never have afforded to keep him this year, so we had no choice but to move him on.
Wish him all the best as he often have his all and was always played out of position.

Playing him out wide was just shocking, I really wonder sometimes if we know more than the managers.

Even when played as a striker he hardly set Div 2 alight last season, perhaps is impressive form this season highlights just how poor Scottish football has become.
I can't imagine him ever being picked as our No 9 last season as he seemed to slow and hardley ever won the ball in the air - a bit like White so far this season!!

Pretty sure he was given his chances upfront but I haven't got the time or inclination to read every match report!

Slow, created little and blowing out of his arse after 60 mins.
Don't understand the Clarkson love in.

Im saying he was slow and unfit. Not sure how anyone could disagree, but fair enough.

Well he certainly wasn't quick, that's not what I'm saying, but some of the best players in this league, or the premier league, or even ever, aren't/weren't especially quick. In terms of fitness I always thought Clarkson looked less fit than he was if that makes any sense.. He sometimes looked knackered after about twenty minutes but quite often he'd be one of the only ones still able to run an anything like normal pace after 85 minutes.

Now that is talking nonsense, to be that succesful he would have to score 10 to 15 goals and he never really looked like scoring that many. Is best spell at Rovers as when MM played him in midfeild!

Clarkson would have easily scored 10 goals if he'd been played up front all season, I actually reckon he'd have got around 20. You're right that Clarkson played well in midfield under McGhee, but bloody O'Toole was played in midfield and did a very good job for the majority of the season in fairness. Clarkson should have played up top!

Clarkson was ok at best, good footballer, but then so was Eliott Richards.
I think the best way i'd describe Clarkson would be to liken him to a 70's Betamax Porno - Plenty of talent on show but not a lot of action with Puffing and panting after two minutes.
