As the title says, 'Everyone remembers where they were when JFK was shot', but we will now be able to tell our kids that we were there when Nichols scored!! Seriously though, it was a great goal and I am delighted for him. I have always been a fan of Tom. He has been very unlucky (how many times has he hit the bar or post?) and I genuinely believe he can add something to the team. Hopefully this goal will give him the confidence to move forward and score many more goals.

We can also say that we were there when The Snake was roundly humiliated by a hostile Mem crowd, who missed a sitter, handball end in frustration having fallen over, got booked when he should have been sent off, then finally went off injured after 30 ineffectual minutes.
One thing I always noticed about his time with us was that it never fazed or seemed to bother him when he missed a chance or made a mistake. Yesterday was a complete contrast as he looked terrified and like a rabbit in the headlights.
I hope that a little part of Matty Taylor knows that he has been a twat and that he stunted his career by going to City for 30 pieces of silver and betraying a club and fan base that idolised him. He's 30 soon and his time may be running out. I suspect his loan is with a view to a permanent deal with Oxford, and if he is constantly injured or out of form they may decide they don't want him. What will he do then?

What will he do then? Was saying on 1FF that Matty really needs to score quite a few goals at Oxford. He's on about Ā£14k and apparently Oxford are paying Ā£2.5k of that. He's out of contract in the summer and it's likely Oxford will sign him on a free if he does well. But ultimately, he needs to score 15 goals this season to show he's still got it and can demand a good wage still. The bloke has barely played for 2/3 years so it's natural that he's rusty, but if he doesn't do well then he'll be a bit of a has-been and drop back down to where we found him. Personally I think he'll do well, but let's see.

What will he do then? Thing is though mate, he was earning just shy of Ā£4K a week with us, and he went to city on Ā£14k a week. I donāt begrudge him that as football is a short career and you take your chance when you get it as you may not get it again. Yes it was a snakey move by announcing his release fee and the āwelcome to Bristolā was completely classless by city and that is what really fuelled the move. He hasnāt stunted his career, he left us in L1, went to a higher league, couldnāt cut the mustard there and is back in L1. Some players make their living being L1/L2 players. He was never higher than championship quality. But as someone mentioned earlier, it was his goals that got us promoted twice and that shouldnāt be forgotten.

Completely off topic but Jack should have played for England well before this. Now they pick him when Somerset have a chance of their first Championship after 144 years and he canāt play for us v Yorkshire at Taunton. B***** it! UTG!

Best spinner in the country for the last 3 years and NOW they pick him! Never mind...Bess will step up. What a game of cricket that was. As said earlier, that beats the World Cup Final for me. #wearesomerset #utg

Tom Nichols scoring AND Ben Stokes (with the great help of Jack Leach) winning the test match is an unbelievable way....all in one weekend......what more could you ask for (oh yes, and the Snake failing miserably against us!)

You will also remember where you were when Ben Stokes played THAT innings. In bed asleep. Went to bed when Woakes got out. Got up this morning and watched the highlights.
