I’ve come to the conclusion that if we can’t afford to keep GC then we should get the Kosovo manager in and sign their midfielders. Know what you mean!, thought Kosovo were brilliant last night!5-1 down at half time thanks to a couple of dubious decisions, how can the lino not see Sancho two yards off side when he was right in line! would have been easy to give up but did they hell, showed great spirit and loads of skill, would loved to have seen them get a fourth to make it really interesting!(no I am not a scot!, I was just so impressed with the Kosovo attitude)!good luck to them in the future. I thought the Kosovo keeper touched the ball on its way to Sancho.

As in all sports you need to be able to defend properly. Kosovo failed that test, especially their midfield. It’s not always all about attacking. Also Sancho wasn’t offside as he was behind the ball when Sterling played it across.

This of course begs the question:- Who the hell are we going to replace GC with, and what manager would be prepared to come here with the obvious budget restrictions? GC deserves more of a chance than people seem willing to give him. The only available replacement would have to be a novice, or one of the many journey men lower league managers who go round on the managerial carousel, stopping off at various clubs for a couple of years before getting fired and moving on. The obvious candidate for me would be Phil Parkinson with Mansell as number 2. But I doubt we would be much of a draw for him. The romance would say bring Holloway back again with Mansell as number 2. His contacts would be wide ranging and we know he has very good relationships with managers up and down the football league and is very good friends with Penrice, who is probably one of Europe's top talent scouts in the U23 bracket.

Holloway is always somewhere in the shadows, but he is history. He's not managed a club in a while now and his "contacts" are all probably retired, or no longer wish to be his contacts. We made the mistake of having Gerry back, and then we had Ward back and we even had our "old player" back in Ray Graydon, and look at the "success they brought us. Holloway is in our History and that is where he should stay...………….forever.

I thought he would be a great manager with his connections with us and higher league experience.
