Fair play. I guess this is the place to have a moan about women's football. I notice the BBC are constantly trying to over push it. Yesterday you had loads of league 1 and 2 matches on yet if you clicked on the BBC football website, the main bit was saying for women's premier league score updates. If people want to watch women's football that is up to them but it does feel like let's focus on just the prem/champ men's and women's but feck the lower league teams (unless it's Salford or Sunderland). That's off my chest anyway. Agreed. Its the liberal PC brigade, and the big TV companys virtue signalling in order to fit into there agenda of this non stop equal rights BS. And its not just with womans football tho, but everything from the Brexit,to having to except a new freaking gender every other week! Ive got no problem with equal rights in any area btw,or in football and trying to promote the growth of the female game, but it just too forced for my liking. Like you said about yesterdays results. They were headling womans results over L1 and L2 results in places.. It also bugs the hell out of me when we have a female pundits on every other football show now a days.Im not saying that they dont know what they are talking about, nor that they are not good at there job.But its not natural right now to see a female footballer who's level of experience would be of a much lower level than a player that plays for Yate Town,or Mangotsfield Utd talking about a top Level game purely due to there sex and to fit a new narrative thats being pushed today. It seems to forced upon us rather than it happening organically. Wtf is the liberal PC brigade, their next opponents?

People don’t seem to have a problem with women’s football, but the same people seem to have a problem when the women’s game had a 5x larger crowd than we did. The same people who are up for equality in everything, yet moan about it when for the first time in history it was placed higher than Bristol Rovers on bbc sport? Good thing you’re not bothered by it & are all for equality City women's had 3041 fans which is far less than many L1 and L2 games including ours obviously. I'm for equality in some things but women's football is far far inferior product to men's. Fact. So should therefore get less coverage IMO. Also how real is most of the support in women's football at the minute? A lot of it is prawn sandwich supporters who fancy a day out. They get MUCH less coverage. We get Sky Sports there with live analysis, iFollow, most newspapers, money from EFL, live betting on all streams, larger sponsors etc, the list can go on pretty much forever. However for the first time in history, BBC had the women game (of 31,000) as the main box on the sports page. You're right, that is SO unfair on us. Despite everything else we get, clearly they have the most coverage there. How real is it? How real is your support? Who are you to judge someones support & call them not a real supporter, because they support a woman's team? But tell me more how you're all up for equality...

Suggest we have a Gas Girls section of the forum so that the very sensitive don't have to look at it if they don't want to.

The women's game has quite clearly come on leaps and bounds to what it was only a few years ago. That surely can not be denied and I must admit I have been very impressed whenever I have watched games on the box. A lot of this is obviously down to the Premier league big boys running sides and as they do signing up the cream of the crop. Then when given the standard of coaching and associated luxuries it is no surprise why they become stronger and more skilful. That is a fact of life I am afraid and it's quite obvious why the BBC etc are promoting it left, right and centre. We are where we are for a reason and as women make up fifty percent of the world's population or thereabouts, the media has realised that the masses would rather watch the likes of England's women's team than BRFC v Accrington.

Bristol Rovers WFC play their first match and there's a thread about it, it's Political Correctness gone mad.

Womens football is not an inferior product. That's your opinion, but its not a fact. It's a different product altogether. It's like comparing F1 and Touring cars. It's both cars racing on a track, but its not really the same thing at all. Of course it's an inferior product. If Bristol Rovers played Man City Women who do you think would win!! And it's both football so it is the same thing. Just different sexes playing it and massive difference in standard.

I'd suggest Rovers on Saturday would be a better watch for the neutral than the 2003 Champions League Final as an example. Standard of player does not equate to standard of product.

31,000 watched Man City womens on Saturday while only 6500 watched us.
Is it really unfair that they got more coverage?
I don't buy this 'PC brigade stuffing it down our throats' nonsense. If you don't like women's football then scroll on.
Don't even get me started on women pundits. If you can make a case of Lawrenson being a better pundit than Alex Scott then you're a genius.

I'm going to come out and say it.
I wonder if there's been any female supporters of the Gas Girl's drop in to the forum, and read some of these comments, and turned around feeling rather unwelcome.
This thread seems a bit 1970's blokey. "Women should be in the kitchen and not on the turf".
Come on guys

Well it is the pc brigade. Because Lawrenson is a crap pundit, doesn't make someone else a good one. I think they could find far better pundits than both tbh. It is rammed down our throats though and doesn't seem natural.

The 82ers are a higher standard and get 3 times the gates we get so I take it you have written to Radio Bristol to ensure they get 2/3rds more coverage than us then. Good for you.

The difference is that is actually a higher standard. Women's football is not.
