We couldn't beat a team with 10 men so I'm terrified of what we won't achieve against a team with no manager! We rarely beat a team with 10 men AND haven't beaten Accy since 2012 We beat Walsall a couple of years ago with 10. Accys were very average and at home we should have beaten them with 11 or 10. As for 2012 not relevant.

As much as I love DC he wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes at Leeds. The Championship is no joke - I would say Nathan Jones had a better chance of success than DC at Leeds (based on style of football and Stoke being a more accommodating club) and yet he's on borrowed time. Would have been a nice pay day for him for sure but in terms of his reputation I don't think he missed out there much. Completely agree with this post, unfortunately I think DC would have been gone within 3/4 months. He probably would have been but his career only went backwards with us since that opportunity anyways, so he would have had nothing to lose but been a lot better off financially.

Not quite sure it did tbh. They come in for him in the summer of L2 going to L1 - he still had a very good 18 months with us, I wouldn't say 11th & 13th in L1 are bad. We'd bite your hand off for that end of the season.

He didn't get a better offer since then did he, so he would have been better off taking the Leeds job. If he had failed, he would still have got another L1/L2 job like he has now anyway. Especially with the reputation Leeds had.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49634696Quite surprised to see this. Only 6 places apart in the football pyramid currently and I don't see Huddersfield as a massively enticing club. Could be good timing for us though as I doubt it gives much time for Lincoln to appoint a manager before we play them on Saturday. Imo great appointment for the Terriers; Cowley did a great job at Braintree and followed it up at Sincil Bank.

When Danny Cowley took over at Concord Rangers, the club were playing in the Essex Senior League, in front of crowds of around 50 to 60 people. In his first season in charge the club they were promoted to the Isthmian League Division One North and went on to achieve 3 promotions in total at the club leaving them in the National League South with crowds of about 350-400.

His record really is astonishing to be fair. Not many people could boast the amount of promotions and silverware that he has achieved so far in his career. He just needs to keep the momentum going because one bad job and it could all go downhill. Seen it with so many other managers.

In some respects I think he might have been better off taking over a 'big' League One club (assuming opportunity arose) such as Sunderland, and taking them forward with momentum built in the process. Doesn't feel like Huddersfield is a particularly great move but if he's been promised time and investment which materialises, perhaps.
