Strange question. Do you think promotion would be a good thing? Sorry I did reply but it got mixed up in another post not sure how that happened.👆 Blame the mods. I always do. Much though it would be unbelievable to go to the Championship, we'd get trounced, every game, and ridiculed for our Ground. By everyone.

Or maybe every home game would feel like a big cup game the atmosphere would be amazing and we’d win a fair few and stay up first season and probably go down the second season, that’s what happened to burton , Rotherham , Scunthorpe too I think ? Anyway we’re a long way off it because Coggers ain’t got the funds for the 3+ quality players needed to challenge. I’d be happy with mid table. Not long term , I want us to build a new stadium , training ground win promotion and stay there but those things combined are at least 5 years away maybe 10 or maybe will never happen. I don’t think it’ll happen with our current board but you never know what’s on the horizon. Would I be up for promotion followed by one or two seasons in the championship and seeing us with big crowds taking on the big clubs and occasionally beating them ? Absolutely . There wouldn’t be any pressure because with what we’ve got there would be low expectations. The other way if looking at it is promotion to the championship, would probably attract a big takeover from somebody with not only more money but willing to spend it , who knows.

Would they allow us into the Championship with our Ground? Isn't it three years or something they allow to convert to all-seater? Academic really. We wouldn't last that long.

It's a crap Ground for Lg1, imagine it in the Championship? Still, would be good to take the promotion money, the parachute money and for 1 season entertain the likes of Leeds, Charlton, West Brom etc.

I don’t share the embarrassment of some about the ground. Maybe this is because I started supporting the Gas at Twerton. Surely we’d relish packing the Mem every fortnight and getting 100% behind the team to overturn the odds? There would be a few clubs who wouldn’t fancy the visit, that’s for sure.

I actually agree with your sentiment.... But.... Can you remember the away facilities at away games during the twerton era? Hepatitis B springs to mind to be honest, rusty cages with rusty bars, rusty turnstiles and crumbling cement.... Other clubs built a new ground before their old ground fell down....

If we win tonight, check fluid levels and tyre pressures, nothing more.

You been here when we lose a couple of games? I've never known a fan base as ours does, to go from one extreme to another after every win or loss. We are so fickle its unbelievable. Yes we have become "Secret Teds" in our attitude
