The guy is a beast, best player since Lambert.... And all of the championship clubs will be looking at us as a 4 year old child eating a Mars bar.... maybe if we lick him all over then nobody will want him! Bolders?

Doesn’t help when soccer a.m keep showing his goals and last Saturday they showed it right at the end of the showreel and closed the show out with it. He will definitely be piquing interest. I'm not sure that Soccer AM is the most reliable source for a football scout... If they're not keeping an eye on him already with his stats, they shouldn't be in a job! Yes, I understand that but I have never seen a goal be repeated, at the end of the show. I agree that any decent scouts would have had their collective radars honed in, from last season

Genuinely believe he would get in the current Man Utd team.

Everywhere he’s been he’s never been the striking top dog. He’s been one of several and usually displaced to positions out wide etc which has not always suited his game. At Rovers there is no doubt he’s the first striker on the team sheet if fit and the forward play revolves around him. Wherever (and whenever) he moves on it will be to a side higher up the pyramid and they will no doubt have a better battery of strikers and like Harrison and Taylor before him he will find if he is not an instant hit then he’ll be reduced to bit parts in positions that do not necessarily suit him again. Thus, this is the first extended purple patch of his career and he himself may not want to end it mid season and return to the ranks of the also rans. Yes he’d be negotiating a much improved cash figure but it wouldn’t be significantly different in January or July. Likewise the amount we sell him for wouldn’t be hugely different between one window and the next, and if we are arguing that bums on seats are important then the prospect of not seeing JCH in the second half of the season is likely to knock another 500 off the home gate average too.

But will being "top dog" for just 6 months really lead to a player turning down a chance to triple (?) his pay? What could is if we're in a top 6 spot with a real chance of a reaching the play offs/getting promotion. I guess if we're only mid table come January then JCH will have stopped scoring anyway so he probably won't have to worry about him leaving.

Does he have a release clause? If not, we stand more chance of keeping him

Or he may want to cash in on his stock and play for a club with ambition, something DC probably wishes he had done when Leeds came calling...

Agreed could be a worry unless neither party saw a reason to insert one at the time and that’s good for us.

IMO, Offski, no doubt his agent is doing a deal while we contemplate. Rovers should be looking for the next JCH, as his replacement will need to be in the building by the end of January 20.

Good argument;however, JCH will be attracted to a considerable hike in his wages and he will be gone, just like ever other BRFC player who has attracted a whiff of interest over the past 40 years.

Just like all of us would. And indeed all the loyal heroes of the past like Jarman and Bradford, if the truly massive wages of today were available then.

Roy DeAlien lol! This story is definitely out of this world. JCH won’t go there, no atmosphere. What a load of old bollocks!

Many of us (myself included) will quickly forget, the lad quite literally did not have a pre season. At all!

Money will always be the clincher. But why would we settle for less than WE think he's worth? In other words, over £3m minimum. That's the minimum he is worth to us. Someone mentioned Stoke. Ok, but if their need is great, let them pay what we want or risk going down. They can afford any price we put on him because of their parachute payments.
I don't even think he is fully fit, and has had a relatively quiet period in the last few games, but then he still scores goals like yesterday. The bloke is worth a kings ransom, and most importantly he is VERY happy here.
What we need now is the bloody Post to shut up and stop marketing him.

Apart from the hilarious name, why on earth would the city want to sign him? After all there certainly not having any problems scoring goals, but no doubt some will claim Lansdown will just buy him to stop us having any chance of promotion. Another sh**e idiot on twitter on the wind up!
