Spoke to him personally and he told me he’ll sign the contract extension but expects to be sold in January, doesn’t necessarily want to leave but will not turn down the chance of more money at a championship club, it’s a big opportunity for him and his family One interesting thing is he said he thinks we want to sell him Why would he sign an extension in December then leave us in January, that's totally pointless for all concerned, have you just made all this up? Thing is I don’t know that he has signed yet or not, I’m just saying what he told me, I understand it sounds weird but I’m just telling honestly what he told me, he said “if the offer is fair I’ll sign 100%, but I think they want to sell me” to which I made some kind of remark of not wanting him to leave that’s when he said “if a championship team comes in and it’s right for him and his family he has to do what’s best for him” that’s a gods honest conversation I had with him. But as I said that’s before the injury AND before the interview he did where he said he doesn’t know why but things just seemed to have clicked here at Rovers. And as I also said he’s always referred to GC as a friend/mate not a manager, so there are conflicting factors there. I get why you’d think so but I swear on my family I’ve not made a single part of this up, I just hope he ends up staying, a lot has changed since that conversation and I want nothing but success for us, and I think we need him for that

I’m pretty sure the current owners are not prepared to spend anything more than the minimum required. Sad to say it but I think it obviated itself in the silly amount of food ordered and closure of parts of the ground. It’s called brass plating in business terms and we are certainly doing that

If we are going to sell him then I just hope for a bit of proactiveness in that we are looking at potential replacements already. I'm sure we are doing so.
I don't want any last minute scrambles to replace him.

Its Bennett and Nichols that need to go, and they can go for £20 each. Too Much?

I don't want any last minute scrambles to replace him. I hope it’s also proactively in the sense of getting the amount of money we deserve for once

Sure that’s just a tester amount to gage our reaction, the worrying thing is it means bids are definitely coming Read the article in the post above. It is nothing like a bit has been made. It's a fan's site suggesting players that Sunderland should look at. It's truly remarkable how everything is turned into a negative on here.

And to be honest JCH can do a lot better than the current Sunderland. They're going absolutely nowhere.

Our owners had better be careful because if JCH is sold in January and not replaced i can see our losses increasing, a lot of fans are fed up to the high teeth with our off field situation and i think it maybe the final straw for some, as has already been mentioned numerous times our crowds are down by a couple of thousand and i can see them dropping back down to the loyal 5000 if our on field fortunes take a turn for the worst which could easily happen.

Which is something our owners will, you'd hope, have to take into consideration if they get any offers. Unlike DC/SH I sense GC/MS are no fools when it comes to seeing the bigger picture.

If we are mid-table and looking likely to stay there then he will probably go but if things go well and we are in the top six he could be tempted to stay as he knows he’s the main man and would get his chance at a higher level with us. He must be aware of what happened to 🐍 and it’s not as if his career has been a continual success so he might, just might, appreciate his current good fortune and bolster his reputation with us for a while longer. Strangely I think he might also show a bit of loyalty to GC as it’s down to the gaffer’s interest and faith in him that he is suddenly in the spotlight. I reckon he will be with us for the full season but will move on in the summer if we are still in League 1.

Years ago when we were in L2 I used to travel miles to see Ricky Lambert. He stood out as a striker and at the time I said England should play him (Emile Heskey) was centre forward then. JCH is the best L1 striker I have seen for us and for any other club for some time. His work rate is incredible for someone who is not 100% fit. His reading of the game is superb. His ball shielding skills stand out. His scoring record is second to none. I think he is worth at least £5M to us and should not be sold for less than £7M with a buy back clause plus any onward profit sale. His current worth in the market is around £2.3M? Hopefully we don’t sell him; love watching him and Zi think he loves playing for us. We don’t syy to op our players progressing so .... PS It’s time he scored a hat trick for us? UTG

Does anyone know why he spends the whole game hobbling around and falling over? If he was an opponent we would boo him for his antics.
He has been a fine player for us but what is the other stuff about?
