This is what you know: ''nothing good ever happens to The Gas'' Pessimist, aren't I? A pessimist or an optimist..... neither will affect what we do come the end of the season but the optimist will enjoy it more.

Excellent report Steve (as ever). Craig is a brilliant Captain and should keep the arm-band. Our back 3 dealt with everything thrown at them yesterday. Rock solid. Our mid-field is better without Ollie Clarke. Leahy and Rodman are doing great in their wing-back roles. What is the point of Tom Nichols? I JUST DON'T GET IT.

Thanks for the write up Steve. I don't always agree with your appraisal but the game has always been about opinions.
In my opinion, all successful teams are founded on a strong defence. Under GC, there is no doubt that Rovers are both a tough team to beat and equally tough to score against. It may not be pretty but it is effective if the aim is to accumulate points.
I'm really glad that as time progresses, more and more people are recognising the influence of Tony Craig at the back. Not only is he a good captain and leader, he is developing the potential of both Davies and .Kilgour. Craig may not be the tallest, fastest or most skiiful centre back we've had, but he's very effective in negating the opposition and in my opinion one of the very best defenders in the division.

I must have been watching a different game yesterday, because I thought we were an average side against a poor one, with too many wayward passes, long high balls going anywhere except the place intended, and a pretty dull atmosphere.
We made fewer mistakes than them, and we got a goal. It wasn't terrible, but it was boring at times. We haven't turned into Brazil just because we're 4th.
Just my opinion.

I don't think anybody is considering that Rovers are playing football in the style of Brazil.
What I see is the eleven players on the pitch battling for the shirt and the fans. In many respects a similar sort of ethos (if different playing style) to the glory days of DC. Yes, aghast you're right - there were a lot of aimless balls kicked to nobody in particular. But on the positive side this team has risen to 4th in the league and I'm delighted about that.
On balance, I'd much prefer to be 4th top using conservative tactics rather than 4th bottom playing cavalier football. That's my opinion and I fully understand and appreciate that others may have different views. That's the beauty of football.

I agree with virtually all of Steve's report, I also thought that MK were a typical Paul Tisdale team. Neat triangles of passing with little or no end product; against our determined team I could only see one winner.
Lee Nichols was by far the busiest keeper; he pulled off two superb saves I seem to recall just before our goal. Where as JVS had to deal with just the one effort on target; Rich's bus is definitely getting spruced up as we post on this thread - UTG.

Agree 100% but I am just worried how long we can get results playing this way.
I suspect we (and Wycombe) will be found out soon and we don't seem to have a plan B in terms of tactics/formation

As the expected rain storms were not as bad as feared, it was quite a disappointing crowd, especially considering the ST two mates for a tenner offer.
One of the problems is that quite a high percentage of STs must be over 65 and therefore may not be internet savvy.
Why can't future offers be announced over the PA?
I had to laugh though, young Lance read some important info about future matches ticketing arrangements on Sat and said see the website for details! Not much luck if you can't!

Rules out bringing one for a tenner. A stupid idea.
