It's not my forum, I'm just giving you my opinion of how I feel it will go. Any of the mods can close this thread, and close any thread like it in future. All I'm saying is that I'm guessing they won't on the strength of what we have seen in this thread. I think going forward I may be more inclined to moderate personal speculation on the mental health or otherwise of individual players as I think its unfair, but I still see people being (mostly) willing to engage on what is often a taboo subject. What about speculation over someone’s physical well-being?

You have completely misread that post. Yeah, I can't talk for dragonfly but I imagine the rough idea is that racist chanting and shouts used to be par for the course, and thought of as part of the game, and now is usually treated with disdain by the average fan and the fans often won't stand for it and generally police their fellow fans in that regard, and that hopefully the extreme abuse of players should be considered in a similar vein. That's what I got from the comment, anyway. That is how I see it Antonio, articulated perfectly. I have given up trying to reason with some who purposely do not want to understand a different view.

Been rather busy over the last few days and can't really be bothered to catch back up with this thread as it's a pretty detailed one and makes for a down lifting read. I can see Ollie's article today doesn't seem to have been linked to. I'm inclined to agree with him. The chants during the game and cheers when Tom Nichols came off were thoroughly disappointing to see from our support. It was pleasing though that a section of support still gave him a bloody good clap. Link to article: www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ian-holloway-bristol-rovers-fans-3462729Titled: Ian Holloway: 'Bristol Rovers fans booing Tom Nichols should take a long, hard look at themselves' He might not be setting the net alight but I'm sorry he is trying. Giving him abuse and shouting at him telling him he's sh** isn't going to help him. Defending him doesn't mean you accept his goal tally and performances either!

Stick him at the top of a midfield 3 and he might be better than olly Clarke and could even earn himself a new contract as an attacking midfielder. Flog him to death as a striker in a route one team without its target man and we’ll lose games. And yes I agree with olly I’ve never booed a Rovers player and never will.

I remember seeing a Rovers striker played as a full back towards the end of his career and being abused by the crowd for his performance, his name was..... Geoff Bradford.

What a load of nonsense.
He's had a mare of a season, and doesn't seem to be improving. Does he deserve so much flak? Of course he doesn't. At least he appears to be trying, even if it's not very effective.
But was he sobbing his heart out when he came off? Absolutely not. Was disappointed, and received a little arm around the shoulder from GC, that was it.
He wasn't crying, and I doubt very much whether he has mental health issues either! Who makes this sh** up ffs!

It looked like he was crying from where I was sitting, but if you can say he definitely wasn't, then fair enough.
He obviously cares even less about his performances than I thought.

If Reilly was still here would he be playing? If Jak had signed would he be the regular partner to JCH?
We are a club with little money and therefore little options.
The transfer fee for Rhys Kavanagh looks like it won't work out, Moore has not showed enough, so until January we don't have many options. I would like to see Warwick given a chance on the Leasing game v Swindon.
Our squad is threadbare and injured players are putting their bodies (and minds) on the line, even though they are in pain or nowhere near fit.
As Supporters (some may have to look up a dictionary to see what it actually means) we need to get behind the boys during the 90 odd minutes, whoever is playing.
We often have a go at the players for a lack of effort yet we dont sing our hearts out. We need to do our bit and SUPPORT!

A good manager at any profession would not ask a man to do something beyond his ability. The buck stops with the manager. Clark made the same mistake and lost his job for it.

Kavanagh is apparently a great prospect and a brilliant finisher so what is this based on, interested to know?

We may have many great finishers amongst our attackers. Smith looks as good as any when he has a chance but when do we see any chances being created? I don’t see any strikers wasting any real chances. Perhaps Tom N in the first five minutes against Bolton. Fact is we don’t create anything for a finisher to finish. UTG!

Why is on the bench? No other striking options therefore!
