You are talking utter rubbish again IMHO Tom is by far the most technically gifted player at the club - FACT and did the two replacement players that came on during the game do any better - No Bennett is and always will be a complete waste of space and has to be moved on in January Disagree, Tyler Smith is technically a more gifted player than Tom Nichols. Strange how Tom's technically gifted skills how failed to see him score when put clean through on many occasions since he has been at the club and failed to convert any. (Apart from the passback by an opposition player when he was played onside) In my opinion he may well be able to win a keepy uppy contest but as a striker, he is physically weak, has no power when it comes to shooting and without doubt his record since being at the club proves he has been a failure. To be honest, apart from JCH our entire front players are dross and need to be replaced with better footballers. When JCH leaves we will be stuffed with nothing up front but a load of short unskillful players. Time to give Mr Moore a run in the team

Do try to understand what I have written. Abuse of Tom Nichols is unacceptable and racial abuse is unacceptable. Why are you linking someone being called a lady garden with racial abuse? If th gold star comment was aimed at me then it doesn't apply I'm afraid. You really are a snowflake. Once again WTF are you on about? If you fail to comprehend the fundamental point i have made then I cannot help you. Perhaps you should have engaged more at school and your persistent insults indicates that you have issues with maturity. I have no more to say to you, however I invite you to have the last insult which would mean so much to you.

Not quite sure why it is said he has failed as a striker lets playing him as an attacking midfield option. He wouldn't be any cop at that imo. Its time for pastures new. This bloodyminded attitude 'cause he cost a few quid we must stick with is baffling. We have given him a go, and its time he tried somewhere else. Id have Reilly back in a flash over Tom. It hasn't worked which is a shame but we have had better strikers in the past that haven't had anywhere near the opportunities he has been given. Whilst Reilly popped up with the very occasional goal he did virtually nothing for most of the time he was on the pitch, likewise Smith has the concessional run with the ball but 9 times out of 10 concedes possession. God knows why we offered Moore a contract extension if he's worse than the 3 strikers GC's presently selecting. I just can't understand why GC didn't bring in a striker in the summer who could retain possession as back up for JCH, although perhaps beggars can't be choosers. Assuming Smith & Adeboyejo start tomorrow surely one has to score?

I find it impossible to understand why you (and others to be fair) try to draw equivalence between players who are statistically proven to be better and more productive. Reilly scored 4 from 16 appearances. Smith 2 from 12. Even Andy Williams was twice the player Nichols has been - 8 from 88. There just isn't any comparison. Those stats are a dream compared to Tom. Like I said I feel desperately sorry for him but we can't keep pretending reality is different from what it is. As for this "most naturally gifted player" business. Rubbish. I'm the most naturally gifted boxer in the world. The fact I would be knocked out in the first 5 seconds of a bout is, apparently, irrelevant to my natural gift.

One more page than the thread about our all time record appearance holder passing away. State of this. Make that two. What a club. The best thing is this thread has been done a dozen times before.

Perhaps you should think on - when you have a go at a player you are also having a go at the manager who selects him to play, his trainer, and his team mates. They obviously see a player differently to you otherwise he would not be in the team. I feel sorry for you if you consider your opinion is better than theirs who are professionals - are you? Are you? How exactly. Utter nonsense. In that case, if you know better than the professionals at the Club perhaps you should apply for a job as Manager? trainer? or maybe you would make the grade as a footballer? At least you have age on your side - when you leave school you could apply for a job!

Tom has almost missed as many penalties as he has scored goals. That pretty much sums up his value as a striker I am afraid....

Absolute waste of space and money and as has been the case for two seasons - not a striker Why oh why did he or was allowed to take the penalty You are talking utter rubbish again IMHO Tom is by far the most technically gifted player at the club - FACT and did the two replacement players that came on during the game do any better - No Bennett is and always will be a complete waste of space and has to be moved on in January But there's an argument for saying Bennett is the most technically skilful player in the squad, yet according to you he's a waste of space and should be moved on. He hasn't had anywhere near the number of starts as Nicholls but I suspect he's scored nearly as many goals, and those from midfield. As for the 2 players who came on, how many starts have they had compared to Nicholls? Not comparing like for like. Hes been given 2 pens, and he's missed them both. That's truly shocking for a forward, yet the assistant manager said that if we won another pen then Nicholls will take it. That guy must have some incredible dirt on the management at our club, either that or he can put Derren Brown to shame when it comes to hypnosis and mind control. It would appear that power has spread into the crowd as well. Luckily it doesn't seem to have reached the back of the East Stand seating.

Stuart, God bless him, last played for Rovers 30 or more years ago. I suspect a large proportion of our fan base never saw him play. The only thing anyone can say about Stuart is that he is a Rovers legend, was a tremendous player for us and will always be remembered. There's not really a lot more that can be said. There is no argument or discussion on his thread, so of course it will Peter out after a few pages. Not comparing like for like I'm afraid, but I'll finish by saying I had the priveledge of watching him play over many years, and perhaps whilst not being the most technically gifted he gave his all for our club, and always seemed to care.

My Point is that they made no impact because the midfield did not give them anything to work with, just like Sir Tom got No service from our midfield at all.... I remember a certain Centre forward of ours putting a pen into Orbit when he first joined.... even the best mess up when it comes to Pens, just look at England's record over the years

He is the worst forward we have ever had. According to Quest (when I watched it) he has scored four goals in 83 appearances. I have no idea why Coughlin didn't say to him, you wont be playing in my team during the summer. Another thing is I don't remember him appearing for the development squad, where as all the others have. Deon Moore would be my choice over him, and when you think the hapless Payne scored more in his short stay it makes you think how bad Nichols is. Bad enough to cost DC his job
