But there's an argument for saying Bennett is the most technically skilful player in the squad, yet according to you he's a waste of space and should be moved on. He hasn't had anywhere near the number of starts as Nicholls but I suspect he's scored nearly as many goals, and those from midfield. As for the 2 players who came on, how many starts have they had compared to Nicholls? Not comparing like for like.Hes been given 2 pens, and he's missed them both. That's truly shocking for a forward, yet the assistant manager said that if we won another pen then Nicholls will take it. That guy must have some incredible dirt on the management at our club, either that or he can put Derren Brown to shame when it comes to hypnosis and mind control. It would appear that power has spread into the crowd as well. Luckily it doesn't seem to have reached the back of the East Stand seating. My Point is that they made no impact because the midfield did not give them anything to work with, just like Sir Tom got No service from our midfield at all.... I remember a certain Centre forward of ours putting a pen into Orbit when he first joined.... even the best mess up when it comes to Pens, just look at England's record over the years But Henbury, are you saying that Nicholls has had no service from midfield for over 2 seasons which is why he's scored about 4 goals in the league? There is no excuse there for a striker missing the 2 pens he's been allowed to take. and please, stop calling him sir, he hasn't earned and doesn't warrant such a respectful address.

Make that two. What a club. The best thing is this thread has been done a dozen times before. Stuart, God bless him, last played for Rovers 30 or more years ago. I suspect a large proportion of our fan base never saw him play. The only thing anyone can say about Stuart is that he is a Rovers legend, was a tremendous player for us and will always be remembered. There's not really a lot more that can be said. There is no argument or discussion on his thread, so of course it will Peter out after a few pages. Not comparing like for like I'm afraid, but I'll finish by saying I had the priveledge of watching him play over many years, and perhaps whilst not being the most technically gifted he gave his all for our club, and always seemed to care. Thing is we've had this thread a dozen times before. It's utterly pointless.

This is the forum where we debate the same subject way way more than a dozen times and it's very much pointless, that's the attraction.

So what's the alternative as w/o TN we're even worse than with him in the side? I'm not sure I understand on what basis we're even worse without him in the side? How have you come to that conclusion? I've watched every league and most cup games for the last two seasons, how have you come to your conclusion that with JCH missing in away games there's better options in the squad?

Are you? How exactly. Utter nonsense. In that case, if you know better than the professionals at the Club perhaps you should apply for a job as Manager? trainer? or maybe you would make the grade as a footballer? At least you have age on your side - when you leave school you could apply for a job! I'm not a plumber but I know one is sh** if he floods my kitchen.

He is the worst forward we have ever had. According to Quest (when I watched it) he has scored four goals in 83 appearances. I have no idea why Coughlin didn't say to him, you wont be playing in my team during the summer. Another thing is I don't remember him appearing for the development squad, where as all the others have. Deon Moore would be my choice over him, and when you think the hapless Payne scored more in his short stay it makes you think how bad Nichols is. Bad enough to cost DC his job I believe that GC said last December that he was protecting Nicholls because he feared another club might come in for him in the transfer window. Was that a bit of kidology to get an increasingly frustrated and sceptical fan base on board, or did he miss a trick by passing up an opportunity to get rid, AND FOR MONEY! Oh Graham, what have you done?

One more page than the thread about our all time record appearance holder passing away. State of this. I knew Stuart and obviously thoughts for his family.
I am sure he would rather we pondered and debated Rovers, attacking and singling out players, probably not, but subject matter is subject matter. Comparing the length of topics is just bad taste.

Would be surprised if he could get any granules in the cup, probably just loads on the rim and miles wide of it.

Without doubt an individual who is thieving a wage and is incapable of DOING any of the things ANY Sunday league player is capable of doing.
He is simply sh** and should be dropped as every touch he makes, normally poorly, sees him slaughtered.
I have no sympathy for him whatsoever and GC is making a huge sacrifice by playing him.

After his totally inept performance tonight fully deserving of all the abuse he received. Stealing a living from our club without the slightest doubt!

"Plenty of scouts up in the stands watching a quality player like Tommy Nichols" according to Coughlan last season.
