Any comments on the Tony Craig report in The Bristol Post?

I'm at a bit of a loss to the relevance of the thread title and the subject....

I'm at a bit of a loss to the relevance of the thread title and the subject.... I think it would be fair to say Hugo is not his greatest fan, hence a little dig at him.

They are interesting stats tbh. Statistics also prove that the average person has less than one testicle.

He's a good defender. Yes he's slow and his distribution is a little wayward on occasions. However, he's as tough as nails and knows all the tricks of the trade. And so he should! He's captained better teams than Rovers to success and played against better strikers than anything he's likely to face in L1.
The interest for me is next season and whether he will be up to the rigours of first team professional football. Whatever the outcome, Kilgour and Davies will be much better players having played with Craig for one full season.

Not for me. Helped Lockyer to look average at best. I want Steve Elliot or Christian Edwards back please.

What are the stats on his mistakes that directly lead to goals?
When you get battered by teams like Blackpool, Bolton and Doncaster youโre going to get in the way of a few shots too.
I know Iโm not his greatest fan either but watching him week in week out I know I would rather a younger and quicker centre half there.

I routinely ignore any link to the Bristol Post. Can't be ballsed spending 15 minutes closing pop-ups just to read something copied off here.

Well you might not like it, but I just learned 15 ways a man can make a woman very happy indeed. Link..??๐ Eat.. Actually no it's supposed to be here in the article.
"It is often easy to marvel at Tony Craig's longevity.
At 34, he should be reaching a stage in his career where he is winding down, yet the Bristol Rovers centre-back is aging like a fine wine - and it also turns out he is playing like a Duracel Bunny.
Stats website Who Scored reports that he has blocked the third-most amount of shots in League One with 15, and has the fourth-highest amount of clearances in the division with 84.
They also say that Craig has played the most amount of minutes in League One for an outfielder aged 34 or over, and the fourth most of all outfielders in England's top four divisions in that age bracket.
It is an impressive stat, with the former Millwall man almost ever-present at the heart of the Gas defence this season, and one of the influential figures in helping them escape relegation last year.
Rovers boss Graham Coughlan said the feat is testament to how Craig looks after himself and was stunned when told that the Daily Record claimed that the defender had played the most minutes out of any 34-year-old in Europe across the whole of 2019.
"That's an amazing stat," Coughlan said.
"He looks after himself, in fairness to him, as do all modern day footballers.
"I've been in Tony's shoes myself, when you're getting to that age and you're in the latter end of your career, I tend to think you appreciate the game more.
"You appreciate training more, you don't want it to end.
"You know it's going to end at some stage but you don't want it to end, you keep going and you tend to look after your body a lot more.
"I always say it to the lads that they're so, so lucky, because I wish I was a player in the modern day era due to the TLC and the expertise that they're afforded nowadays.
"I would have loved to have played nowadays."
Craig has thrived this season playing in the heart of a back three, and Coughlan says he is hopeful of the defender learning more about the game thanks to taking his coaching badges.
"He's done really well," Coughlan said.
"I don't think I need to tell you guys, you know he's a leader and he commands respect.
"He's got a lot of experience, he knows what he's doing and people respond to him, which is exactly what you want on your team.
"He's done very well, he's making one or two steps into the coaching side of things as well, helping Lee Mansell with the under-23s, which is nice and healthy.
"In my own career I was afforded a similar opportunity when playing by Paul Simpson at Shrewsbury and I really enjoyed it and revelled in it.
"I learnt a little bit more about the game as well, so hopefully Tony will follow in my own footsteps.""
You probably didn't learn much..

Last time I looked, shots and clearances were countable nouns.

I'd prefer better players all over the pitch, but you can only water with the cock you've got until January.
