From The Sunderland forum: 7 minutes ago #66 "C.McLaughlin not in the Norn Iron squad so that's just J.McLaughlin and Flanagan missing (although CMc is suspended anyway) It all hinges om Burge being fit enough"... C McLaughlin has been called up so that's three of their players including a keeper.

Burge is there present number one keeper and is injured at present. There other senior keeper called up for Scotland and the only other keeper is a youth product. Think the question is how long are they allowed to decide if Burge is fit enough? Yes I'm not really sure what's what and who's who at Sunderland.just had a quick look at their forum. And found that

He's only banned for one game which I assume will be cleared by the FA Cup game, would be interesting to know the answer if it was our game, I assume they'd have to play it? So what's the latest Sunderland can call the game off, are they now waiting to see if they pick up anymore injuries on Saturday?

Bumper crowd for the Swindon game then ?

It's a shame it's off - could have been a good time to play them. The C McLaughlin call up and current suspension is interesting. The FA suspensions page shows him being suspended for 1 game, ending on 16th November - so does that mean he would or wouldn't have been available on the 16th for our game - I don't know.
This season yellow cards are competition specific, in that the accumulation of 5 (before completing 19 games) or 10 (before 37 games) applies only to league games - cards in cup competitions only apply in those games and a one match ban is given in that competition after two yellow cards.
Even after reading the rules on the Suspensions pages I'm still not clear - will McLaughlin be banned for the FA Cup game or our game, I don't know, but if it is our game than surely there should be room for some sort of questioning of the league if we do want to play it. The danger now is that we play them in January after they have spent some of their newly acquired £10million, and we could be weaker through injury, our own suspension(s), or loss of key players.

It really isn't fair that a club like ours should suffer real financial hardship because of international breaks. I think that the various Intenational FA's should be made to pay into a fund to compensate clubs like us for loss of income. I'd bet they would soon reconsider calling-up players who have zero chance of actually playing if it meant avoiding having to fork out a couple of hundred thousand for compensation.

But what have we actually lost to be compensated for as once we play the game we should, in theory anyway, get all the gate receipts back, it's not like a pre-season friendly a game we'll never get chance to play again. Anyway given our main shareholders run a bank we should be able to survive better than most League 1 clubs if we need a short term loan!

It says on the FA suspensions site his next match is the cup game, as is the case with Davies, Clark & Agogo who are all one booking away from a suspension, not sure where you've got cup games don't count as it's only EFL Trophy games as far I'm aware.
