What a complete an utter idiot. I mean you have to be to say something like this to the press don't you? Talk about patronising your own fanbase! 'Some fans won't want to hear it'.. You are **ng right we don't Tony! Imaging working for a club and then telling the press that you would love to become a feeder club to their closest rival.. It actually beggars belief. We are not Bath City or Yeovil town, we are Bristol Rovers and for many a year we matched that lot toe for toe every season. We all know that we have been a long way off of them for a long time now, but we are certainly not ready to throw in the towel just yet! Comments like this just go to further demonstrate the growing disconnect between the staff / owners of this club and us, the fans. Really disappointing. I am normally one of the first to shout down people who seem to want to mention DC at any given opportunity, but it feels relevant here, as can you honestly tell me that you could ever imagine these words ever leaving DC's lips?! I certainly can't. Who's Tony?

If we borrow a player in January who helps us get promoted so we are playing them next season, bring it on I have no doubt whatsoever that if we borrow a player who looks like helping getting us promoted come April there would be some sort of dodgy recall, or mysterious injury.

In theory it makes perfect sense but you only have to read this thread to realise that in practise its not a good idea.

But do City have any youngsters that are capable of improving a top half league one team that they wouldn’t want to have in and around their own squad anyway? Without knowing too much about their set up I’d say it’s unlikely.

Well, that went down well. Perhaps because I don’t live in Bristol and haven’t done so for 40 years means I have a slightly different perspective on it. I would say if it gave us an advantage over our rivals in League 1 and we gained good quality players then I’d say ok. And if we got good quality players and our League 1 rivals didn’t get them then why not. After the last three years when the gap has got bigger we are definitely not a Championship club but things change and they are just one very bad season away from joining us in League 1 and we are just one very good season away from the Championship. And in the end I hope our owners, manager and anyone in charge of BRFC make decisions on the basis of what is best for BRFC. But I understand Bristolians might have a different feel to it! UTG!
