just watched Mastermind, Krypton factor, Brain of Britain, otherwise known as Euro draw! What can I say! but at end of day good draw for England and Wales! Good draw for England, World Cup finalists Croatia? What’s the point in having the draw when we don’t know the full line up? Playoffs to come, very bizarre! Was this organised by Steve Hamer?

Good draw for England, World Cup finalists Croatia? What’s the point in having the draw when we don’t know the full line up? Playoffs to come, very bizarre! Was this organised by Steve Hamer? Well we were the semi-finalists.. I think it's important to have a good team in the groups. Having Belgium beat us did us the world of good in Russia and playing against Croatia will set us up nicely. Besides, Croatia are not the team they were 2 years ago, they're worse than they were at the time. Sods law though, my girlfriend is Croatian.. As if it wasn't bad enough losing to them in the semi-finals... Then we had them in the nations league... And now AGAIN. We have a Croatian friend visiting atm and we were all watching together and at the same time all our heads dropped into our hands moaning that we got each other again Then there was the fear of getting Portugal in with us. It was good fun to watch at least. Got my ticket for the final already, let's hope England can get there (unlikely I know). Will be applying for England tickets next week, can't wait!

Tetchy group coz, if I'm reading it right, might be England-Scotland, or Croatia-Serbia.

just watched Mastermind, Krypton factor, Brain of Britain, otherwise known as Euro draw! What can I say! but at end of day good draw for England and Wales! I wouldn't say it's a good draw. We have lost to both Croatia and Czechs in recent time and we will play a team from the group of death (France/Germany/Portugal) in the next round, assuming we get through.

But aren't our group games all at Wembley?
When did we last get beat at Wembley?

But we also beat Croatia in the NL since then. Czech away was my first England away game & I was disgusted with the performance. Whilst Czech are finally playing some better football again, I do think we had a really big off day. The group isn't easy, which is good. Ultimately you always want some tougher games as it'll make you stronger for the knockouts. Don't forget we can finish 3rd and still potentially go to the knock outs. At the end of the day, if we can't get out our group then we should be embarrassed - however I don't really fear any team atm. That's not to say we wouldn't lose against France, Belgium, Netherland or Germany - but to say that we can also beat them. It's going to be a great competition, who knows how far home advantage could get us

Having battered Croatia away pillar to post & somehow only coming out with a 0-0 draw, then beating them at Wembley, I’m more than confident in this group. The Czechs were dealt with at Wembley no problem & as mentioned above, that evening in Prague was a huge off night. I believe Serbia will join us, providing another small test but on our own patch I believe it’ll be 9 from 9 and onto Dublin for a date with 1 of the Group F pack.

We had an easy qualifying group but this whole way of qualifying now seems designed to include everyone. It’s almost as if UEFA is afraid to allow any team to get knocked out. Now we have a protracted qualifying process for other teams. It’s all a bit crazy and designed to lower the quality. It appears that after the main qualifying the only teams who’ve got knocked out are the real minnows, Gibraltar, Andorra, Latvia, Luxembourg etc. Everyone else is still in it. We could have saved a lot of trouble and one-sided matches and just gone to this stage. UTG!

Tetchy group coz, if I'm reading it right, might be England-Scotland, or Croatia-Serbia. Croatia have form for this type of challenge. No different from Modric disgraceful foul on Harry Wilson in Cardiff 6 weeks ago.
England should comfortably qualify for the next phase (Croatia are not the team they were 18 months ago), but finishing top of the group might lead to a difficult tie in the next round (France, Germany or Portugal?).
Personally hopeful that Wales can progress. Not easy but could have been a more difficult group than Ital, Turkey and Switzerland.

You cannot rule out the Turks this time around, they had a very impressive campaign including the beating of France. That group won’t be any stroll for Wales. England Finishing second brings no benefit in ‘avoiding’ a group F opponent, as we would only end up playing one of them in the 1/4 final anyway should we come runners up. I say we are favourites for a reason, with a young exciting squad playing some immense attacking football & with all of our group matches at home. Let’s go and win that group, see where the momentum takes us, 1996 mark two!

My dad and I have always said England will never win anything in our lifetimes. For the first time I can remember, we can actually be excited/hope for something. Southgate has done a phenomenal job

A good as group as we could have hoped for really. Croatia are not as good as they were in the WC and we have already beaten them since then.
We have to stop hiding from the 'bigger' teams by wanting to finish second. If we are not good enough to win our group then we are nowhere near good enough to win the tournament. It worked out ok in the WC because by the time we played Belgium, both of us had already qualified. This time, we play our hardest group game first. Loose that and the pressure on the players will be huge. You only have to remember what happened in the last Euros when we were happy with finishing second....
So lets beat Croatia, smash the other two and roll onto Dublin full of confidence!

The Germans all around me are crying into their beer......oh dear, how sad, never mind. Sure I heard that if we win our group we’ll play the runners up from the “group of death”. Despite a favourable comp with a lot of home advantage there’s a good chance we will get no further than the second round. the Euros are becoming a bit of a laughing stock with a grand draw still having gaps while the never ending qualification process goes on. It’s almost harder not to qualify than is time but hopefully Scotland will find a way not to make it!

If on neutral soil many people would have predicted them to come third but with the home advantage, it will be very hard to predict the outcome of that group. I assume now, that with the Nations League continuing, draws like this will be the same for future Euro competitions with the fourth teams being added later on.

But if we win it, or come 2nd, we play a 2nd place team. So no advantage to the team that wins it really.
