The club should fold or play behind closed doors to minimise large volumes of travelling people.
Either that or we could all sail to matches in solar panelled boats - having flown a skipper across the Atlantic to steer it for us. 😮

Just seen that I’ve asked a question in a thread title. Does that qualify me for an automatic ban mods? Are you Greta Thumberg in disguise?

'Tiny' and 'not worth getting excited about' are not exactly the same thing. (Cue cock jokes.) I tried to make it nob proof but you have exposed a loophole. Nob proof? On Gas chat? Ha!

A brand new state of the art stadium. Simples! Surely its not building a new stadium, Rovers are already doing it!

A lot of that won’t happen at the Mem because ‘we will have a new stadium soon.’
Seriously, when we get a new stadium I’d be amazed if chargepoint won’t be a common sight (think a significant proportion of spaces) as soon electric vehicles will be so common demand for chargepoints will sky rocket.

I may be over simplifying things here and happy to be told where I am going wrong. But I was watching the David Attenborough programme on tv the other day (and a wonderfully filmed and beautiful programme it is). However, this Guru of all things Eco was talking quite nonchantly in that programme about Australia and how, gawd knows how may years ago, it had broken away from the Southern Antartic and moved north etc etc. Now this happened long before any climate change warriors were on this planet and Humankind had had any detrimental impact on the climate. I got to wondering if that happened today how everyone would be talking doom and gloom, end of the world is nigh stuff. (As they are I guess) My point is this world has changed over squillions of years and will continue to change in the future, whether we are here or not. Mother Nature has far more power than any one alive on this earth. Whilst it can not be denied we have had an (negative?) impact on the environment of the planet I struggle to work out how much of an impact we actually have had when things like this have happened many millenia before we arrived? And will likely continue to happen in the future. PS - That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to do things better as per OP but just trying to get a context on where it all fits together It's still happening it's called continental drift, all land above sea level was in one mass named Pangea at one time. Yes there has been climate change before but it's being excelerated by our emissions, we are now suffering from the pollution of years ago. the pollution from now will not have an effect for many years yet, so if we stopped all harmful emissions tomorrow the average Temperature will still rise. Evolution needs a long time, if the past climate changed to rapidly through volcanism or asteroid strike we had mass extinctions, luckily for us or we wouldn't be here. A gradual shift in temperature life can adjust and evolve.

I think it needs to be slightly the other way around in that there needs to be more charging points initially to encourage the ownership of these vehicles. To show people there is an alternative way. Not sure how you will create the demand for them if one of the issues blocking the purchase is how the heck you recharge them? I am also baffled by the fact that with all these new build homes everywhere they are not a standard fit to make it easier for people to make the decision. Surely cheaper/easier as part of a new build rather than a retro fit afterwards. It is a bit of a Chicken/Egg situation.

LED lights everywhere possible and light sensors so that lights cannot be left on anywhere is a fairly easy thing to do. If that's how the floodlights worked then the midfield would be in darkness all game Edit - oops, late to this thread and reading on after posting I see that AF made a similar point

Surely we are doing more than most premiership clubs as we never been in the champions league or europe league, a very selfless act to reduced your air miles, and looks like city have agreed the same.

Pointless doing anything at the Mem, but we have done our bit so far by erecting tents an not brick / concrete stands. all that power saved!

Doesnt a plant based diet actually harm the eco system by taking away the very things that filter the co2 out of the atmosphere? Also a plant based diet definately produces more greenhouse gases in my gaff. If animals weren't made to be eaten then why are they made of food

Surely cheaper/easier as part of a new build rather than a retro fit afterwards. It is a bit of a Chicken/Egg situation. I get what you mean. But looking at our case in point there’s no point installing charge points in a stadium we don’t want to be in at the medium to long term or if we do will be subject to significant development. The range on the best EVs will match that of a lowish range petrol vehicle, and they can be charged up to 80% charge within 30 mins at a service station with a fast charger. We don’t have filling stations at most destinations so it shouldn’t be too much of a difference apart from time spent charging vs filling. If hybrids are anything to go by as well the range isn’t the best during winter. Range aside electric is a joy to drive! Regards new build I thought it was required they install them but apparently not and I can see why they wouldn’t. I have a hybrid and I spent £250 odd getting one installed but that was with a government grant - without that it would have been touching on £780. Plus I had to get a feed out to my garage to make it all possible. Builders won’t be eligible for that scheme - perhaps there’s another but wouldn’t bet on it. That’s largely the labour as well as the chargepoints themselves cost about £250.

To save washing the kit tell the players not to build up a sweat by running around too much or by making unnecessary tackles and falling to the ground. Ok, so they are already more environmentally responsible than I thought!
