Great to see our defenders celebrating doing their job so well. Love seeing them rejoice in great tackles, challenges and blocks, like the Italians of the 80's It was at times like watching a clown troupe try and defend like 1980s Italy: Mad cap, slap-stick, some great blocks but still gave lots of easy chances away and yet got the luck that Plymouth just couldn’t score. And given our attitude we probably deserved that luck. And it wasn’t a one-off either given how we’ve played this season. I can only conclude there is something irresistible about us this season. If we are going to bring someone new in we should definitely be looking for someone who loves grinding out a game for 5 months. Not the right time for. Tisdale or a Jones

soundcloud.com/ntt20pod/all-rhodes-lead-to-goals Another excellent NTT20 podcast - listen from 40:33. I think the lads perfectly sum it up. GC played a part in the team's development but he's replaceable and the overall team spirit from lads that hate to lose prove there is life beyond him. When you look at it like that doesn’t it make you think GC was a bit of a bluffer and without these players he is going to realise he Isn’t as good as he thinks he is? I said it as soon as the Mansfield stuff came up, it’s going to be hard for him to recreate his success and I’m more convinced of that after tonight seeing how the players have barely noticed he’s gone. No. I, for one, do not think or believe for one second that GC was a bluffer. His record proves that he achieved something that many, maybe most Rovers fans did not believe possible and has improved upon that this season. I believe he will recruit the necessary players for Mansfield, perhaps raiding us for one or two and his "do not lose lightly" style will ensure an improvement in Mansfield's form.

Tisdale or a Jones Yet you believe GC was a bluffer? He had a unique set of players and conditions that he will struggle to re-assemble at Mansfield. Let’s not forget games like Bromley where we were outplayed by a non-league team in a disgusting performance yet blagged a win. We’ve ridden our luck at times this year and luck is something GC won’t be able to buy at Mansfield no matter how much money they have got and how nice their showers are.

Regardless of our resilience and sheer bloody mindfulness to dig in and grind out a result, attitude of the players to my mind this is GCs team players tactics shape and attitude that’s he alone has instilled. Credit where credits due some might not like it but it wins games and as said before nobody but nobody believed he would achieve what he has with the team he inherited from the Doncaster horror show. Thank you GC let’s hope your principles will be carried forward as it was lastnight at Plymouth

It does make you wonder where we'd be if we didn't have Mr 100% commitment Craig leading the back line, backed up by Jaakki behind him, with JCH then scoring with virtually everything he hit. Did GC find all these gems or was it really down to TW?

Sometimes you just have to ride the wave and I think the players can/will continue doing that irrespective of who comes in.

Did GC find all these gems or was it really down to TW? There's no doubt that these three players are real giants in this team. Right down the spine of the team these players are really exceptional. It seems that we will lose JCH this January but to lose Jaakki as well would be sickening. He's as much a Championship player as JCH. ive championed Craig from day one. He's one of the top defenders in this league and I hope his fitness levels will enable him to play another season next year. Under his guidance, Kilgour, Rollin and Davies have thrived. Another year under his guidance and we will have three young very valuable defenders. Craig isn't fast. He isn't huge. His distribution can be wayward. But he knows all the tricks of the trade and gives 100% every game. He intimidates much larger players and even pops up to cause mayhem at corners. Let's hope he doesn't want to leave us to be nearer his family .....

Did GC find all these gems or was it really down to TW? Craig was a DC signing wasn’t he? And it wasn’t a popular one either! Bit like JCH in that respect But if they are all TW’s signings then I give GC even less chance of succeeding at Mansfield. They may be hands off and leave the recruitment to him in which case he will need to prove he can identify the right player and bring them in and play in his style. Given that it’s mostly about players with heart I would say that narrows the parameters down further because we know ourselves how hard it is to find players with character as we haven’t seen many of those in the last 20 years ourselves. It’s going to be tough for him and I don’t think he realises just how tough yet.
