Tom Nichols, a new 3 year contract. To be fair to the guy, he can play. But he is not a natural striker. But would we have signed him in the first place if Peterborough had said " we've got this player you can have. He can't score but he CAN PLAY A BIT". I don't think so.

Post reporter. He seems more in the know and does more research than the last guy, who was rubbish. He might have started following after rumours though.

What happened to the whole “we’ve got no budget and cannot sign anyone until others leave”? Of course it could just be a couple of loans where we don’t have to cover any of the wages. The two players in question were at the game today and stood on the West Enclosure. I know who they are but I won't say who until it's official.

Using guess work- we could be signing- DJ Buffonge. Not been playing for his current club and Sam Frost appears to have followed him and Bogle recently? Perhaps following a lead? Guess work. Buffonge looked quality at U18 level coming through at Man Utd. Attacking midfielder with an eye for a pass, nice balance and lovely left foot. From this he looks brilliant. You do wonder why he can’t get a game in the second flight of Italian football now though.

It's all very well our Ricky Gervaise double, new manager Ben Garner saying we're close to signing a couple of players, but we've heard it all before. In the past, promises were made regarding new signings and we waited, and we waited, and suddenly we were told the deal broke down at the last moment or the player was offered more elsewhere so changed their mind, etc etc. Best not to say anything and just announce the new man or men when the deals been done. Whilst I suspect Garner could be found out a cropper with this declaration I have resisted predicting it. Why? I think its better too wait before accusing someone of being a liar. Who knows you could look pretty dopey by 7:45 Tuesday. Dont judge someone by someone else's lies. I'm not accusing anyone of lying, why would he deliberately lie? Im sure he has said this with the best of intentions in the honest belief it will happen. I hope it does. However, the decisions out of his hands now. he's made his moves and those have been nitially accepted. However, there is probably some way to go and factors outside of Ricky's control may scupper the deals. Thats the only reason I suggested he kept his powder dry, to save getting egg on his face next week. I never accused anyone of lying. Apology accepted.

(Assuming his quality stacks up) Weve become so satisfied and smug by our general defensive qualities we sit too deep. We need a player that can transition from defence to attack. We miss Ollie Clarke. For all those basic errors hes probably our best attacking midfielder from a defensive position.

If they’ were standing on the West Enclosure, you have to question their decision making. Not the sort of players we need I’m afraid.

Did they attend the BRFC induction course where they have to stand in two inches of water during half time to prove they have the stomach to be die hard Gas?

I don't even think we had stewards in the enclosure? It sounds like total BS unless they wanted to bring attention to themselves by standing on an otherwise empty terracing!
