He will know what Bennet is on anyway. The average wage in L2 is 800-1500 a week. If they are offering £1k a week to stay within their own frame work then that’s what they are paying. But he has 18months left here so there is no motivation for him to move. Whoever is giving you exact information on wages and contracts is letting the club down badly and unless its the actual owner needs to be sacked ASAP. It’s not hard to figure out he has 18 months left. The Swindon manager was talking about a loan with an option to BUY him at the end of the season

If the Swindon manager had to pay however many percent of Bennetts wages during his last loan spell then it really isn't hard to work out what he is on per week from the Swindon end. Not only that but they would of known during the negotiations anyway because a business would never discuss percentages of an unknown amount of money. As for our financial position, that's been widely known for a couple of years now that we've had issues balancing the books although that appears a bit more straight forward now there is better people in place to do the job.

It's not a rumour it's common knowledge.! MS,GC and BG have all said we need to get players out of the door in order to bring players in as we are flying close to the FFP rules.

Put him on a secondment to work with my missus, that will soon have him taking Swindon's 25%.
If Bennett really wanted to play football he would have already gone by now. Fair enough we were stupid enough to offer that contract in the first place, but it seems clear money means more to him than playing.

Another ITKer - is this really new news though ? I think it’s common knowledge about our financial position and I doubt many clubs in the L1 and L2 are wealthy. But the bloke is a cock for quoting it when talking about a player
I've met quite a few fans and board members at various grounds around the country who thought we were loaded due Wael & family.
Ignorant nonsense- you only have to look at our record transfer fee to realise that, if they really do have the money, they ain’t splashing it.

If we have got financial issues why the hell didn't we go all out to beat Stevenage on Wednesday instead of playuing a reserve side, surely the £40K for winning that tie, and then potentially beating Exeter, was far easier to achieve than beating Coventry next Tuesday or getting anywhere in the league now this season?
As far as Bennett why don't we just now tell Swindon to do one?

Well that was the calculations I made. I’m no Rachel Riley but if some has to take a 75% pay cut to go to a league where the average wage is £1k per week then the maths aren’t that hard....

Bennett would probably know what our financial position would be. Could be engineering a move to Swindon.

Plus the accounts are published every season and everyone can see that we are losing millions every season. We brought 2 player's in and already said that we would have to balance the books.

Fire Bennett for grossly under performing and negotiate compensation to reflect that under performance.

As far as Bennett why don't we just now tell Swindon to do one? I expect Swindon were only paying a similar amount last season. If nobody else wants him and he is deemed not good enough by BG, we will agree to those terms. Because that would be £1 towards another player. We are probally hoping someone will pay half of his wages though. Nobody is going to pay all of the them. If someone offered to pay £2k towards them and we could bring in a young striker on loan, who BG rates, for the same amount we will take it IMO. That striker that Bolton have signed and have took a gamble on, who has scored loads in non league, signed a deal for £800 a week.

Absolutely (about the contract, not working with your Mrs ) but if you were on a contract where you knew nobody else would pay you anywhere near the same, wouldn’t you milk it for all it’s worth for as long as you could too? Money is the only currency that matters in life ultimately. He might be risking future employment by staying here, but football being football someone will sign him as a free agent when he leaves although he may have to slip into the conference.
