I recently received some free tickets for buying my season ticket early, now I applaud the club in giving these out as it is nice to be rewarded for our loyalty but what about all the other ST holders who season after season have stumped up the cash for the club? What I propose is that instead of giving tickets that I can't use the club gives a reduction to ST holders for any home cup games, now that would be a benefit to us and maybe get a few more through the turnstiles. I know by giving these free tickets to me, it will get 3 new people coming to the MEM spending cash and hopefully they will come back for the next game and the next but what about really rewarding the ST holders for our loyalty. Maybe more will buy ST next season if we have better incentives. Anyone else feel this way? So come on BSS, how about putting this one forward to the club?

It's a difficult one this. In fairness and please debate if you wish but a ST Holder gets a good deal the minute they sign up surely. The club get your money up front and you get in for a reduced price and are guaranteed tickets to any big (oh dear) games.
I was a ST holder for 25 years, i can no longer afford the outlay anymore so i pay full price to get in. So it's actually costing me a lot of money nowadays to watch the lads.
Please don't think i'm attacking your post/opinion, i'm just putting it out there that it's a pretty good deal to be a ST Holder and always has been in my opinion. Good thread though Gasfest. UTG

Totally agree with JTS. I'm a season ticket holder and I get a damn good deal now. So I would not issue free bees for us. I would prefer to see quid a kid for all games.

I've been a st holder for god knows how long now, and because i'm skint I always bought early.....
I might have missed some publicity on this one but the reason I didn't buy early this season was because the club had frozen prices so I could wait a while, only to find out I wouldn't be included in a promotional offer in October, because i'd bought my ticket in may.....
i'm sure It can in some way shape or form be justified but sounds like a bit of a bungled and unfair idea to me.....
but then again I missed out so I would think that.....

UTG I agree with you Jon, it is a good deal being a ST holder at about 11 quid for me in the Blackthorn(or now North terrace) and I feel for you having to pay the full whack as 18 quid is expensive, but I'm paying in April and your paying on the day, throughout the season, the club is on a win win situation, also as ST holders are too, just think there is room for a little loyalty. Am I asking for too much then?

No your not asking too much, because if thats your opinion then i support you saying it. I suppose it depends on which side of the fence you're currently on. For me personally i can't come up with the cash in May/June, as a result i pay on average £7 per game more than ST holders, i will also struggle to get cup tickets or popular away match tickets if required. I would like to see ST Holders rewarded for their loyalty as indeed you seem to have been, but i'd also like the pay-on-the-day supporter rewarded for regularly attending at full admission price in some way. Of course, my advantage is i can pick and choose games and i fully appreciate that. I think the "I pay up front" quote is a good one and is fantastic for the club and encourages loyalty, just remember that others would love that opportunity but currently can't afford it. UTG

Don't the club do a mini ST like 10 games or something, I believe you can pick your games.

They do a 5 and 10 match season ticket. I brought a 5 and am shortly to buy another 5 IF performances continue despite the rubbish performances.

I would have bought a flexi 10, but getting there for 1.30 and being the first person in the ground was not appealing.

An hour of fruit juice and fizzy pop...

I would have bought a flexi 10, but getting there for 1.30 and being the first person in the ground was not appealing. I spoke to Clare (?) a few weeks ago from the club regarding this - apparently if you give them prior notice (3 days iirc) they will send a ticket to you. Alternatively, you can call on the morning of the game and tell them you would like to use one of your flexi-ticket vouchers and quote your ticket number and they will put one back in the ticket office for you without having to get there for 1:30. The club's communication with this was brilliant when I contacted them, I emailed them and within half an hour they called me and gave me all of the required info. I would advise giving them a call just to confirm this as this was last month I believe but this was the information given to me at the time.

This is a good topic as apart from match day discounts what do season ticket holders receive (apart from the recent voucher offers for some) what about the club offering reduced prices for cup matches and perhaps even a discount card for drinks & food of say 10%, or perhaps just one off drinks or food offers, would that help sell more ST's & /or build up a "feel good" factor about stumping up for an St?

After being a season ticket holder for longer than I can count, I am more demanding now.

I'm happy someone agrees with me on this one, you know season after season you stump up the cash early, there are many fellow gasheads that I've spoken to that think the club should reward us for our early loyalty, after all that cash goes towards the playing squad for the next season. I agree with you topper on all the discounts you mentioned. Maybe if people are rewarded with some of the suggestions more people might just buy ST and buy them EARLY. So come on Brian SS take this one to the board, please.
