Only person to voice it in print has been wellens
Bristol Rovers have changed their manager and we’ve heard through the grapevine that they need to get players out because financially they’re not in a great position," Wellens told the Swindon Advertiser.

Why doesn’t Wellens just shut the f**k up and take Bennett off our hands? Please do us all a favour Mr Bellens.

Sercombe is league 1 standard mayenese is playing at the highest level yet and has done ok and is young and I think could become very good for us like kilgour has. Nichols is lower league 1 / league 2 same as Upson Only Bennet definitely isn’t good enough for this level. What we need is structure and continuity and a manager that uses our squads strengths and then we’re a mid table maybe play off side. Without that there’s a chance we’re a bottom four team. But the same could be said for half the clubs in the league. At the moment we’ve got no direction and we’re a club in a mess with no leadership and than shows on the pitch..

Yeah, I can't believe people banging on about the stadium and the training ground, it's only been 35 years since leaving eastville. Have I misunderstood this thread or is someone proposing to rebuild eastville? If so il see if I can get a few days off work. Yes, the Evil Post can exclusively reveal, plans have been submitted that will effectively turn Ikea and Tesco’s into an underground Mall beneath the newly constructed Eastville 2022 stadium. Also because the stadium will be well above ground level it means the slip roads from the elevated section of the M32 heading to the stadium will actually rise up rather than go down to ground level. The additional height will enable two multi storey car parks to be incorporated into the 40,000 seater Premiership ready stadium. When asked the official height of the stadium planners confirmed Rovers would be “on cloud nine” to which the chairman of Tesco stores replied “cloud cuckoo land more like”. Chairman Wael was unavailable for comment with a spokesperson from the administrative hierarchy (wearing rubber gloves and a hairnet) mumbling something about NDA. We have been reliably informed that NDA does not mean “Not Discernably Alive” as we first thought.

Swindon must think Bennett is good enough for L1 as I doubt he's planning for L2 again next season. It's frustrating Bennett has shown no interest whatsoever in performing for any of our 4(!) managers so far this season. Personally I'd let him train with the Development Squad and certainly wouldn't have him on the bench every week.

Regarding the financial situation at rovers we all know it is not great. Surely we all know we are in pretty bad debt and losing money? Like many clubs we rely on the owners to keep us afloat as we are not a self sufficient and solvent business.

Sorry, but no. It’s never “ambitious” to hire a man with “games managed: 0” on his CV- it’s “brave”, “commendable”, “risky”, “daring” Etc. But it’s not “ambitious”. And we can see why, because they come with the least guarantee of anyone that they can do the job. It’s a massive risk the board have taken which so far could not have failed any more spectacularly. Ambition would have been Nathan Jones, or someone with some track record of getting a team over the line. I tend to agree, I’m just going on what people were saying on here. Glad you mentioned Jones though as he was our first choice, but he rejected us... I guess that was then too ambitious? Joe Dunne also rejected it. It’s all so strange, what is happening here now.

Was Dunne ever offered it, I got the impression he either was never interested or Garner was lined up before even GC quit, if not, why had BG watched all Rovers games and also been watching Barrett for 18 months? Although if he had been why the hell did he tinker with GC's formation!!
