I’ve had enough of the complete OTT reaction to anything and everything Do you know what? I'm SICK and TIRED of this sort of post. FUMING MAD to be honest. ABSOLUTE SHITFEST. I'm going for a FRIGGING WALK right now. Even though it's QUITE BLOODY CHILLY. TOSSERS. It does seem that to be the case on here. You cant point anything out or its classed as being OTT.. The opening poster didnt say he was walking away from the Gas just that he has had enough as have I also, and many other gasheads - this is backed up by our poor atts. Its not about this season,I cant remember one like it tbf as even given the last month of results we are still in a decent position in the table. But it more about the way our club is run and its lack of progress off the field. We have the "potential" fanbase of a championship/premiership club given that we are from the 6th largest city in England.Yet we have a non league stadium and a team playing at L1 level. We've seen no progress or growth of our infrastructure since well before we left Eastville and have had owners that seem to either not care or are incapable of doing anything. We are called the faithful true, but Gasheads want to be shown that there is hope in our future. Some of the many the have followed blindly over generations have had enough. They may not walk away, but are currect to say that they have had enough.

I have followed Rovers for over sixty years but this has to be my lowest point
Being 2nd bottom of the conference was my lowest point..... Mid-table in league 1, I would have bit your hand off a few years back to be here...

Love how you're all happy to jump down the throat of the OP get the boot in whilst in your next breath joining in on the criticism that led the OP to this point. I'll tell you now I once lived and breathed this football club. These days, no season ticket and certainly dont go as much as I used to. Hardly ever travel away now. Just doesnt feel like we will ever really achieve anything to me and that sure has had an effect on my passion for it. I'm totally prepared and happy to be called anything other users feel suitable and take all the comments about not being a true supporter. If that is what's coming to me, just remember guys that you're criticising someone who used to be like you and the real question here should be how the club plans to manage the supporter attrition that is seeing gates fall. We all have our limits I suppose. I dont know what it is particularly about the Al Qadi reign that has sapped the energy out of me, it could be one of many things. But that's the truth. I can only see it ending in disaster so maybe it's the self preservation mechanism in me pulling me away ahead of time. But yeah, that's the honest reflection of someone that as I say literally bled blue most of my child and adult life. And yet now, cast thine eyes upon the field where I grow my *s. Thou shalt see that it is barren. I feel the same. I don't know what it is about the owners that is so disappointing. They didn't promise anything in definite terms. They said it would be evolution not revolution. They said it has to be sustainable. They said all this, but somehow many of us believed it was the start of something big, at last. Wael clearly really wanted it too. But they've lived up to their promise of promising nothing by doing virtually nothing to grow the club. We were all set to take off after the L2 promotion. Everything looked good. The manager and players had done their bit and looked like they had more still to give. Attendances were good. The training ground had been purchased. Since then it's all fizzled out for reasons we as mere paying customers are not allowed to know. Maybe the rabbit will be pulled out of the hat yet, but I've sort of given up hoping, and just wish we had different owners.

Interesting thread this and I can see both sides
I travel from Bournemouth with my 10 year old son and I must admit it's getting harder to convince him it's worth the 4 hour round trip!
He watches, like all kids, the premier league and global game becoming more of a cash circus, these current transfer fees and wages are driving a massive wedge between the haves and have nots.... I try to convince him it's about loving your club and dreaming of one day being in the 'big time' but I'm not even sure what that means anymore! The premier league with its farce of var is not somewhere I'd really like to be!
So a generation of fans are perhaps being lost especially as our beloved neighbours edge ever closer to the promised land. If that happens I really do fear for our future.
I started supporting the gas at Twerton with a die hard fan base of around 4-5,000 and I don't doubt with stagnation we will be back to that figure again soon. The feeling around the ground of late has been bordering on the apathetic at best. We need some positive news regarding a stadium or else I only foresee a downward spiral and with debts as they are, if the owners were to walk I do fear for us
Will I ever give up? Not a chance! It's in your blood. The crime is we have the potential to be a superb club with superb fans but whether we ever get there is anyone's guess. I'd love to hope my boy one day sits in a ground to be proud of..... if his interest lasts that long!

I can see where the OP coming from. I don't agree but respect the opinion. For me, supporting Rovers can be incredibly testing. It seems that just as we get things together it all collapses and we start again.
On the positive side it's not that long ago we were at the wrong end of the Conference. The Conference is now full of ex-league teams who have all enjoyed happier times.
I'm just so disappointed that we couldn't maintain our league form under GC. At the point of his departure, we were firmly entrenched in the playoff positions. Now we have posts speculating on relegation. It's been a dire 6 weeks.
I remember supporting Rovers when they were playing second tier football. Sadly, a large section of our fan base has never had that pleasure. I would love for that time to return but football is a very different game to that played in the rose-tinted days of Eastville.

Losing money hand over fist. Cannot make money from non-football. Crumbling before our eyes. Difficult to attract new fans. Bury your head if you want but there's only one way it's gonna end. Heard nothing but that since 1974. Guess what? The financial dimension of football has famously changed very little in 45 years.

I've highlighted the jokes for you, in red. Not semantics, actual jokes (although mine was a bit of an open goal) (The second one was a pastiche of an OTT reaction). Pastiche? And that's another thing ~ I like the old pastiches better than ginsters and why do we run out so often ~ BG OUT

I have followed Rovers for over sixty years but this has to be my lowest point I agree. Whilst being in the conference was terrible at least there was hope the UWE would happen and you could see a way forward for the club. Now there is no direction, no clue of what’s going on. We’re in this limbo position, loosing £3M a year.

I'd love to hope my boy one day sits in a ground to be proud of..... if his interest lasts that long! UTG Well done Kampuchea. I never managed to persuade my sons to do that. I took them to the nearest local club. AFC Bournemouth and the youngest has kept with them. I did that in the league 2 days when they were staring at non league. I did it to avoid them becoming armchair Man U fans. My youngest has lived the dream over the past 5 years but is worried atm! Now I’m a st holder here as well as I love my live football and going with my son but I do feel a bit guilty over them not being true gasheads, although they were with me at the Mansfield and Grimsby games esp as I was introduced to Rovers by my grandad who watched our first ever league game in 1921 so when Im not here the link will be broken. It takes me about 5 hours for the round trip so I only catch 8/9 homes a season with a handful of away games so to do what you do deserves great respect. Good for you, great supporters. I hope you can keep the lad going but I understand it must be hard. Let’s hope you get some good news for all our sakes. Always UTG!

How do you manage to get your season tickets to be a worthwhile investment, Wareham, if you have both? I assume Bournemouth is normally sold out most weeks, unlike us, sadly. So I can see why you might need one for them.
