It wasn't just "4th in the league" it was the highest that this club has been in 25 years, that's the importance of it. Regarding the transfer window, how many of his "signings have league experience?" Very few and you can count the games on 2 hands. if he thinks he will get us out of this league by playing tippy tappy football then he is woefully wrong. If he is still here in August I will be surprised. It wasn't the highest the club has been in 25 years.. where do you get that from? We were topping League One under Holloway in the year 2000 for some time before we dropped down and out of the playoffs in the final 10 or so games. I personally think it is too soon to write him off. But clearly some seem to be frothing at the mouth already... I would say to them perhaps try to relax more - it is much better for your health in the long run

You can be constructive and critical at the same time. Just saying. Give me something to be constructive about, I want to be constructive. Since december 14th give me ONE reason with an ounce of factual evidence to be happy about? Again. Constructive is not the same. As positive.

There’s only one person that comes across as a bit of a tosser as a result of this thread.
It isn’t Ben Garner.

Judge BG at 9.45pm on Tuesday night after the Tranmere game, 7 new faces to choose from, two away games on the bounce, if we get the results then good, if not, what then.

Why beat around the bush. Edited so you could just say what ya wanted without trying to sound like a dick. You do, btw. New to Rovers? Would probably say our team spirit was at it's peak during our rise from NL to our first season League 1 finish. Also think our best change at play offs was that first season back. Doing well, sell Matty. Can't hit the net for the remainder of the season. Teams like Sheff Utd and Bolton eventual promotion teams were giving us big praise - Bolton fans called us Bareclona! and now Bolton who are about to join League 2 are taking the water out of us for both our efforts this year. GC's negative football was literally just JCH in the form of his life. Would have been dire if we had the current/recent JCH. Have you ever noticed good teams get good luck? bad luck seems to happen all the time to under performers. Coughlan was a SUPERB man manager and someone everyone loved to play for, its a real real shame he had to leave, as i said the best points tally in a year than any of our managers! Yeah that season we were pretty however very volatile, this was our best chance and everyone knows it! All they had to do was pick up the phone to holloway and i have no doubt we would be flying high now speaking about automatic promotion and it being a disapointment if we just get the playoffs. I would bet my house and wife that JCH enjoyed his football 10000x more than ben garner. Ben garner reminds me of a sunday league manager trying to implement tika taka football. HE IS WOEFUL! And will go down as our worst ever manager "I would bet my house and wife that JCH enjoyed his football 10000x more than ben garner." Hahaha

If not then we move onto the Blackpool match. Train hard, get better and aim to win. I’ve got my ticket and am looking forward to it. It’s not really rocket science, is it? I understand your frustration and your implication but having just been allowed to bring 7 new players in he has an obvious plan which may take some time. Fortunately this season we should be safe so lots of experience to be gained before the end of the season. UTG!

I remember the home game against Bolton. It didnt seem like anyone in the team was playing for GC that night, the football was dire, absolute dross, running around like headless chickens. I maybe in the minority but does anyone believe that if by some miracle GC guided us to promotion we could win a single game in the championship. Just give BG a chance. Some posters on here sound like they should be supporting the other mob

I just think the op is very frustrated with the massive turnaround in our fortunes,i get that even if it has been poorly articulated.
The team produced good results with coughlan over a year but he did not see the job through so he can never be compared with tann, megson, francis, trollope and clarke imo.
Who knows whats going to happen with garner but it would be madness not to give him plenty of time to implement his ideas and vision for rovers. If he pulls it off in the fullness of time it would be fantastic.

I believe BG will go down as either one of our greatest managers ever and change the way of play and thus maybe the history of our FC (if he gets his football style here right) with championship football and maybe pushing onto the premiership over the next 5 years - or he will go down as our worst ever manager and I see there will be no inbetween for him.
IMHO ( and I very much hope that Im wrong) but I see the latter as I see no suggestion of the former right now.
11 games in, I see Saturdays game almost as D -Day for him.I know Wycombe are 2nd in L1 but a very good performace is needed as a very Min and a real show of his style of new play being on display.
Right now we are lucky that we've had such a great start under GC and with the Bolton/Bury Situation it means that we are pretty much means we are save already.
But right now is about the future, and while BG needs time he also needs to show that he is the right man and is making the needed changes.Otherwise this will turn very bad for him and us,very ...very soon.

We also got to touching distance of 2nd with JCH missing for 6 weeks. Wilder's got Sheff Utd to 5th in the Premiership playing similar "dour" football!! We sure did!, two of the best and most spirited Rovers performances I have ever witnessed and both without JCH, both those games against more than decent opposition and was edge of the seat stuff, and 'away' from home to boot!. Then the BG slide, not a to**er mind you, but apprentice Roy Hodgson springs to mind.

did they work there socks off for him 1st half southend? only reason they came out and won was because party was threatened 2 be cancelled. thats not good man management at all. and no, not from andy, ive spoken to players away from the club with work and they all thought coughlan was a t0sser I also think that Lines did not have a very high opinion of GC either. Well of course it wasn't he got rid of him, come on, use your head.

The fact all people can refer to is an off day against bolton at home speaks volumes.
I am very frustrated that within a month our season is done and everyone is talking about next season.
I have heard Ben Garner speak about his philosophy but i have not seen one bit of evidence on the pitch.
He has just panic purchased a load of under 23 and development players who will probably be on loan at chelt, forest green or exeter in a years time

I hope he turns it around, however he just strikes me as uninspiring and someone I would easily switch off from. Seems like a bit of a tos**r if im being honest. Only rovers would be 4th in the league with the best team spirit I have ever seen. Then appoint a man with no experience to see through our best chance of the play offs in league 1 in over a decade. Has anyone ever seen such a fall from grace this side of the millennium? Whats even more worrying is we looked more a goal threat under coughlans 'negative' football than we do under ben garners 'free flowing' football. has anyone seen any free flowing football yet? This is obviously a wind up post or a complete f u c k w i t or both I’m gobsmacked the efl hasn’t given a trophy for being 4th for a couple of weeks because it seems to be worth one according the brain dead retards on here!

The only thing you can question is me calling him a toss**r which is subjective and just the impression I have got from listening to him. The rest is just facts, he either turns it around or he starts getting his head called for. I give him 4 more games to win a game. If he has not won once in his first 15 games he is TOAST!
