Does make you want BG and Ollie together for us after watching this. Maybe, but one thing that video proves is that Garner has experience of coming through bad spells and also has those words of Ollie to fall back on and inspire him. He can also inspire through his own recent experiences. He’s obviously a different character to Ollie but we are all the product of our experiences. We will turn this around.

Have to say that having looked him in the eye when he came over to us at Oxford that GC is a proper warrior and I wish him all the best regardless of the style of play.
He certainly looks like he has been in a few battles..

Don't really know the situation very well at the other clubs but I'd say coughlan is the most vulnerable. Mansfield seem more desperate and probably think they're underachieving which adds heaps more pressure. I am desperate for a rovers win(s) in the next three games. No midweek fixtures, plenty of time for BG to be with the players, and the confidence of a couple of strong home performances will really lift everyone. If there is still this sort of talk in a month's time I will be worried for our manager. Having said that, it's just occurred to me that only one manager has been sacked under the current regime which bodes well for BG not winning this particular race. Coughlan has to be the most vulnerable as you say. Mansfield sacked David Flitcroft in the summer who finished 4th the previous season so it's fair to say he's on borrowed time. I don't think BG would go unless we were to go on a horrific run until end of the season. I'm sure we'll pick up enough points to keep him here for the time being. We are already

All three are safe this season. I suspect that all 3 will start the next season but expectations at all three clubs will be higher than just staying in the Division. If I was betting, I'd predict GC first to go. The Mansfield owners have pumped a load of money into the club and are expecting results. If he doesn't achieve them before Christmas he will be gone. Clarke to go at Christmas. Coughlans budget has already gone for this season, but next season he will get rid a of a few. Garner will be here for as long as Wael is

Both Cogs and DC will be given time IMO. DC had a complete rebuild to do at Walsall following relegation. Cogs has gone in mid-season and having looked at the squad, it isn’t that good to be top half L2. BG needs a couple of wins soon. If not, he could be the first to go. So other teams have to give their managers time, but we have to do the opposite! It literally sums our supporters up at the moment! Can’t keep having managerial merry-go-rounds! Loads wanted DC gone when we got relegated, then again in the conference, then would happily suck him off for the next 2yrs! Beyond fickle it’s unreal! For a lot, you got what you wanted! GC out and a new manager in! BG needs time to bed in his philosophy, he’s signed a handful of new players who need to be worked into his system and we still have some deadwood that needs to go.

Quite right we can’t keep having managerial merry go rounds but we’ve not in about 6-7 years. Doesn’t mean when we start making changes we have to stick with a sh** appointment. I’m all for giving managers a chance and I’m more patient than most but when you hire a wannabe and he has the worst start for a manager in decades you need to take stock. This whole give a manager time thing is fashionable but context is king and we need to do something.

The transfer window shut 2 weeks ago today and BG was given backing to sign 7 players. Regardless of whether any of us agree with the board that doesn't suggest he is going anywhere. He now has a period where he can work Mon-Fri with the players and performances are getting better. It goes without saying he desperately needs some results but imo there's not a chance of him being replaced. It's a long term project and personally I'll back him for a while longer yet.

We have a head of recruitment. Just because we’ve hired 7 new players doesn’t mean we have to stick with him as it’s more of a reflection of adherence to the head of recruitments strategy than BG. And again, tough decisions need to be made at times.
