Asked my daughter (ted) if she was going to see their game against Derby and said she could'nt afford the £42 for a ticket. So i hope all these new fans have a few quid to spare. how the hell is your daughter a 82er? If my daughter told me she was going to support Bristol Sport 1982 ltd she wouldn't be living in my house Just look at the trajectories of the two clubs, the matchday experience, their profiles in the City. Most of our grandkids will be 82 unless the owners pull their fingers out.

They haven't achieved it yet, but I am sure they will.
Although lets not forget the Ashton Vale extravaganza, residents are already complaining about the lack of parking, traffic problems etc.. that this new monstrosity will cause.
As a relative local it wont be of any use to me First thing I did when I saw the plans was fret about the transport links (unfortunately local) Match days round AG are carnage due to poor bus routes. Hoping they can open up the park and ride, improve the bus services and open up the disused railway line that runs by the Metrobus line Hasn't the road and footpath that's next to Baltic wharf recently fallen in the river? Edit: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-51235880Not sure why its called the chocolate path when its on Cumberland rd.... Should be the sausage path really....

There's a narrow coal seam that runs between Ashton Gate and Temple Meads deemed too small to bother with by Ashton Vale Colliery back in the day. Maybe they could mine it and get the Japanese to design a magnetic pull capsule to transport people straight into the heart of that fantasy land sports centre..

We should market ourselves as a sort of 70s old school football experience. Terraces, muddy pitches, short shorts etc Curly perms, proper scarves and bobble hats, kids sat on the wall, walking home in the dark through St. Paul's after an evening game, bloody hell I miss it. It is the reason I still stand on the East Terrace and am happy we will never have a 21st century ground.

Progress would mean £40 a ticket or double season ticket costs. You would have to sit down or sit down and stand up all the bloody time when people jump up or get up to out to the bar etc. Every other game would be on a friday or sunday or any time sky and co demand you play at. Depressing aint it?
Thank god for wael.

The bigger you build a bucket of sh!t, the more the flys will gather.
They're setting themselves up for an even bigger fall when Mr L finally withdraws..

Don't think that will make much difference. His annoying twat of a son Jon is already there to take over.
Amusing how that lot talk about 'the gap' expecting us to someone keep up with a club bankrolled by a billionaire. They have always had more money that us but nothing on this level.

Sadly I think they will always have more money than us,but what have they ever done? Nothing of any note, water poor, just a pity they didn't fold in 82 when they were getting crowds of four thousand, and before the turncoat joined them.

There is still a major fault with the stadium that they have not addressed. The stands are facing the pitch. Oh the torture.

I say this it's our owners fault over the last 25years for not attracting investors to plough cash into the club and I say this with great sadness

When daddies money dries up, and form starts waning, Mr Twat of a Son won't be hanging around, trust me. It might be a month a year or many, but Mr L won't fund this project forever..

But what will that matter? He has already set them up for a future in a modern day stadium that we could only dream of right now. Football has changed for the good and bad, yet they have caught up with the times while we have not and are clinging onto the gimmick of being the dated Rag bag Rovers.

Lansdown is 67 years old and the running costs of the Bristol Sport empire are loose change to a billionaire like him. Like it or not, he and his son are likely to be around for a very long time. Peter Hargreaves is selling £500m worth of share in Hargreaves Lansdown, but he doesn’t like football - prefers athletics which can be financed on a relative shoestring.

Page 11 of the Sport section of today's Daily Telegraph has the headline:
"Bristol *ity trying to find link between periods and injuries"
I always thought they were a bunch of big girls blouses, but now it seems to be fact.

Well I somewhat agree with you. But, it will matter hugely. Watch the rats bail out when the monies dry up. And they will. Ask Bolton. Ask Darlington. Ask Oxford. Ask Pompey. What can take an age to build up, can if not managed correctly (like for instance, Twat of a Son) fall down remarkably quick. It's there as plain as day. Might take a while, but it can't continue indefinitely..

Well I somewhat agree, they will be around for some time. When Mr L eventually takes a back seat, what after? It's looking cosy for them atm, but don't see the wood for the trees.....it cannot sustain itself indefinitely. There is a finite time to their Eutopia. Chairman writing off £70odd million and hardly anyone bats an eyelid because it's happened for multiples of seasons ain't the real world for vast majority of clubs. Get real. After it's built up, it'll fall quicker than a BG non winning run. I just hope I'm around to see it..

Might take a while, but it can't continue indefinitely.. I dont see it as football and its money has changed since 81/82 and there troubles before. Bristol City like ourselfs are from a huge UK city,Englands 6th largest and modern day premiership and all the money involved will keep them afloat. I hate saying but they will be a premiershite club in the next 5 seasons, if not at the end of this one. Pantsdown will not pull the rug from them, nor will his son sadly. What he has spent against his fortune is like a grain of sand to him. We just have to somehow get to the level they are in terms of ground, crowds and level of play ASAP or a generation of fans will be lost!
