While we were in a good league position when GC left, there were no guarantees that it would continue. However, let's assume it did. Do you think that the style GC played would have either a/got promotion or b/been able to make us survive in the Championship? Personally, I think the style of BG's team would have a much better chance of survival in the Championship. Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture? BG needs another transfer window. Let's see what emerges from that.
Luton played some really good football last season, similar to Coventry this season, and they are 23rd in the Championship currently.
The thing we need to survive in the Championship more than better football, is lots of £££'s, and a new ground would help with that.
Until we have a ground id just be happy to see us play in the second tier again at least once before I die, using whatever style needed to get there. GC's style was working, BG's is not...yet

Whilst the results & league position were favourable (something I had no problem with at all) we were quite literally pinching a goal or two and hanging on by our fingernails for the majority of matches. Far from sustainable in my personal view, but we will never know how it would have all ended under GC.
As of his appointment I am 100% behind Ben & pleased to see that performances are slowly but surely getting better. Hopefully Saturday was the turning point, a Mark Robins moment if you will.

It's quite funny that despite all the great play Garner has brought in our two goals on Saturday came from Coughlan style pop-shots from range. Still not convinced.

Weren't they also our only two decent shots on goal, as I can't recall their goalie making any saves? For our football to improve we meed 1 or 2 quality CM's but they cost £££'s not the type you pick up on free transfers.

It was a simple ball in behind that allowed JCH to outpace the defender.

I hope not, I wouldn't want to lose our soul like Man U have, even for all of those trophies. I did waver before I wrote this however 😉

Need to win matches. BG got lucky, given a job, with no real experience, team 4th in league, does not win a game in 14, won on Saturday when the opposition was better than Rovers, l do not think anybody has the right to be smug. GC did a job, let’s stay up this season and then make a call on BG next season.

This is the biggest stroke of luck for BG.
Had we been mid table (or worse) and had the same disastrous run of results, would Wael have kept faith with him knowing the club would be worth less as a league two member?
