It looks like Josh is about to return to first team action, and this must be a huge boost to the team. With Leahy and Hare knocking in the crosses from the flanks I can see our forward line starting to click.
It is really good to see that what used to be a career ending injury can now be sorted out in just a few months.
Welcome back Josh.

yes from mid September to mid feb - that's only 5 months. I thought with those injuries you need 9 months to recover. I hope he stays injury free till the season ends. I wouldn't expect Rovers to rush him back especially as Little is finding his feet - at long last ! Good Luck Josh !

This season's done really as a few more points will see us safe. The bottom 3 sides are truly awful and I doubt even Rovers could f uck it up now!

You're right of course, but with him playing 60 minutes last night, I reckon GC is looking to get him back in the side sooner rather than later.

Good to see the lad back from what I think is his second ACL injury. There really seems to be a plague of this type of injury which seemed so much rarer in the 1960's and 1970's despite the terrible pitches back then.
I read that modern firmer pitches might be a reason due to jarring together with new style boots the do not cushion landing when jumping and too many games resulting in tired muscles supporting the knee joint. Certainly something is happening to the knees of today's players.

Most ACL injuries seem to happen when studs got caught in the turf whereas back in the day those type of injuries were rare and came through poor challenges. From what I understand the modern pitches are part grass and part synthetic weave (a bit like Wayne Romney’s scalp) and don’t give way when you twist awkwardly. It means we get quite innocuous incidents causing severe injuries when back in the day of wet muddy pitches the grass would tear or mud would slide.

My theory is my generation used to do their cruciates about age 35, if still playing. However, we didn't start playing competitive football until age 15. Today's lads are starting so much younger, that their cruciates give up about age 25 and younger.
It is also true that even parks' pitches nowadays have better root growth on, than what we played on 30 years ago.

Played great at Burton where we cruelly lost to two very late goals.Their keeper was so elated I would love to see him humbled when they play us at the Mem.Quite how Burton survive on their miniscule crowds I know not.Kit assembled stadium but far better then what we have and perfect for their needs.Recall thinking how much nicer Kidderminster's ground too was than ours when we played there pre season.Last ground I saw Tom Nichols score was there.

Don't most modern boots have strange shaped blade protrusions rather than what would be described as a traditional stud. Perhaps there is some blame there too.

I used to wear blades in school - they were great - but I'm pretty sure they were banned in sports a few years later after lots of laceration injuries caused by them!

I hope they ease him in carefully. There’s a reason that an ACL took 9 months, it’s a very serious injury. Getting back in 5 months tells a lot about his level of fitness and his hard work recouperating. Good for him. But not much to play for so I hope they look after him and treat him carefully. He should play but no need to play him flat out. We looked better with him in the team than not so let’s hope BG is sensible over it. UTG!

Just take it easy Mr Hare. He has fantastic talent and I think he'll go on to be one of the best RB's we've had in a long time, but just focus on coming back fully fit next season, we'll need you a lot more then.

Mind this was about 20 years ago when I was a lad, they were a bit of a novelty at the time and I can distinctly remember reading they were banned from competitive use. Although I've done some googling and can't find much in the way to corroborate my memory...!

It will be great to have him back. The staff won't want to rush him because he will be required to play a lot of games next season. His return definitely makes us a stronger team. His return will help address a real weakness in the current team.
