Talk about unfortunate analogy. BG in his presser this morning:
I will use a simple analogy... It’s like when you’re building a house. You’ve got to put strong foundations in place. You don’t want a tent that’s going to blow over in the wind, we want a strong foundation and something that’s going to be here for years to come and improve season on season.

Well, our tent(s) have not blown over in the wind....yet. And they look like they are going to be here for years to come. Not sure what that means though.....🤔 Think I’ve confused myself...

He's actually right, we do need a modern stadium.

Any strong foundation starts with results, you do the basics first like properly defending set pieces and the fancy football philosophy stuff comes later. Garner has high and lofty ideals that the board seem to have bought into and no-one disagrees with but he has to set that aside for the time being and alter his tactics to remedy our apparent lack of goals and get us on the front foot to win games again. There is no quick fix to this but for me a good place to start would be to replace our fullbacks by getting THD and Hare back in now they are fit, drop Clarke and give an opportunity to Barrett or Matthews in his place and start Daly so that JCH has a bit of support up top. Will be extremely disappointed if come 3pm Saturday we field the same lineup as the last couple of weeks because it simply hasn’t worked and needs changing.

Bit like Starnes answering training ground and stadium questions “nothing concrete”. Don’t we bloody know it. All canvas.

Sounds like something DC would say, indirect shot at the owners. They're at fault for a lot but can only blame himself for the way we're playing.

Ben could have just inspired a new chant:
"We don't want a tent, we don't want a tent, we don't want a tent, want a tent, want a tent, we want a stadium."
I'm sure someone can "develop" this.

Oh wow even Ben Garner has already started making subtle digs at the owners regarding the facilities!

Glad BG is taking digs, if that is in fact what he has done, was he also told that there would be a ground development and then head Starnes telling us there is nothing concrete.

He’s not taking digs he’s just making more excuses.
Doesn’t fly with me. The players were good enough for fourth under the last manager. They’re not that bad even if it really was a false position.

I listened to it on the way home from work earlier, and turned it off half way through. That says it all to me. If the bloke can't ignite/motivate the fans, how do we think he is managing (or not it seems) to motivate the players?
