This was the point in my thread yesterday, what are we prepared to sacrifice to survive.
We can’t maintain our current fixed costs at this level. So what do we jettison? We have to maintain the ground and we need a certain amount of admin and sales staff.
So that leaves the football side of the equation. The current crisis has slashed the income and that will remain the case for a couple of years to come at least.
Do we attempt to remain in the league with a squad of kids and hope for the best? We can’t carry on with the playing budget as it is.
What do we want long term. Financial stability at a lower level or continue on the knife edge of administration for ever.

It is £4.1 million minus profit of player sales which was £720k so £3.4 million.

All well and good Starnes saying we hope to cut costs by £1.7million next year but the cost cutting should of started years ago if we wanted to be in a sustainable position as a club. £1.7 million savings, whilst it’s a good start, still means we are losing another £1.7 million a year and that was probably penned before the Coronavirus situation has put a further huge strain on our finances.
Even if somehow we manage to break-even, we’ve still got to reduce a mountain of debt which is now over 3.5x our total yearly turnover before we get ourselves into a healthy position in the accounts once again. Doesn’t look good at all, especially when you factor in our antiquated stadium, no training ground and the footballing malaise on the pitch. I like to think I’m a fairly upbeat poster but I’m struggling to take positives out of how the club is being run at present.

Yeah tbh with everything going on right now, relegation/Ben Garner is the least of my worries.
Just hoping there will be a Bristol Rovers to support tbh

Edit wael will ruin it himself One silver lining is that turnover is up by over £500,000 from £5.8 million to almost £6.4 million. Tom Gorringe clearly earning his wages. Other than that it’s pretty bleak viewing, got to be said.

For what it's worth;
I never imagined we would go bust....I now think this is really possible. In the current climate, football is the least of my worries, so part of me feels like just being put out of my misery. Even genuine City fans sympathise with us at the moment with the people running our club. How does Starmes justify his no doubt huge salary?

Hopeful of cutting losses of £1.7 million in year 2019/20. Why did we take on 7 new signings in the January window, admittedly 4 on loan but their wages have to be paid, we were 6th in the table when they arrived. Can't help but feel that JCH was a done deal in January, Charlton Athletic were mentioned, it's possible this was an open and shut deal, get the 7 in first and then cop the wedge from Charlton, but look what's happened at Charlton, happy valley. It looks as if the door was opened full of promises but the doorman couldn't shut it, Starnes did say at the time he was working right up to the deadline on a deal. Next years accounts will show losses of £4 million plus, any players that can be sold will have to be, but who will have the cash to buy any.

Loss is £3.4 million not £4.1 million that gasincider is reporting. Read both sets of accounts I have declared figures as per accounts. I assume the additional funds came from the sales of Ellis and Gaffney

As I have stated before, and some of you have mentioned on this thread, the only way of reducing the debt in any significant way, is players sales, and a team of kids next season being paid peanuts.
Selling of players means other clubs need the money to buy them. No one is getting income at the moment because of this bloody disease.
As for a far younger cheaper team, still no go as no football at the moment.
Where does all this leave us? Either a new buyer 🤞🤞🤞or a cash injection from Wael if he has the funds.

£23m in debt and you still have to stand on a sh**ty terrace and wade through 4 inches of water to go to the toilet. This is all going to end badly. Crowds over the next 10 years will decline. You only have to look at the number of supporters at the mem who are 65+ to realise that. come on fella some of us love the terrace, if it went to sitting only we'd lose a good few fans, the problem with seats is your squashed up uncomfortable and cant watch the game as well as if your standing each to their own, only 4 inches of water thats way posh when i were a lad you had to go bog snorkeling to get in the bog

Is it possible to see a breakdown of the cost of sales anywhere? I’d love to know what £9.3m is being spent on. Who the f**k is setting the budgets?

Grim reading.
Probably best to start thinking about how an AFC Bristol Rovers phoenix club will operate. Seriously.

When Dwane Sports/The Al-Qadi Family took over, the first thing they did was transfer the Stadium site into Dwane Sports & give the club a 10 mil debt against it. 3 yrs on the clubs debt to Dwane Sports is 16 mil, or put another way, over 5k a day charge/profit against the club AND they still own the site !! IMO, all they ever wanted was the site/land, with the club as a plaything for Wael....
